Just an update!

Not sure about your family but for ours it seems like summer flew out of here like it owed us money! LOL

We have a few important announcements and policy changes that we wanted to let everyone to know about.

Holiday Appointments
Start scheduling them now!
We are already booking about a week out and I’m expecting that to go out longer the closer to the holidays as we get.
Please expect appointments to take 3-4 hours to complete. We go as fast as we safely can, but with two of us we wear several hats around here!

Price Increases
We have done everything we could this year to absorb our operating costs and supply increases and it’s gotten to the point we can no longer do that. Effective Jan 1st, 2025 there will be a $5 to $15 across the board increase depending on the breed. Our research shows that with this modest increase we will still be very competitive, if not lower than other local salons.

Policy Changes
We are going to have to charge for extra services that in the past we didn’t charge for. Our listed base breed price is based on dogs that are brought in for grooming on a regular basis, as in no less than every 8 weeks.
Overgrown/matted dogs
Effective immediately, there will be an extra fee for those pets that come in that are overgrown and are most often really matted up. These dogs can take up to an extra hour to groom even if we are shaving them down. It takes extra products and time to get them clean, it takes extra time to get them dry and it takes extra time and care to cut down, when cutting down an overgrown or matted dog you have to take extra care as to not nick the skin or cause clipper burn.

Double coated breeds
Breeds such as Aussies, Poms, Shepards, Retrievers
Our base price on these breeds includes nail trims, feet trim, sanitary trims, feather trims, and basic shedless treatment.
Again, these prices are based on dogs that come in on a regular schedule no more than 8 weeks or you are not getting the optimal benefits of the shedless treatment. We can not fix your shedding issues with one treatment once a year. The lifecycle of the hair for a dog turns over every 21 days when you have a years worth of hair built up it’s extremely hard on your pet to go through not to mention your bather and groomer! Depending on size a heavily packed coat could add several hours to your grooming time not to mention the extra specially products and tools we have to use. So now when a dog comes in with a packed coat there will be an extra $15-$25 charge depending on size and severity.
Double Coated Shave Downs
For those clients who prefer to have their Aussies, Poms, etc., clipped down short, there will be an extra $10-$20 fee to cover the extra time for the clipping. We still deshed your dog and blow dry them before the shave down, so there is more work involved.

Dematting
I will only demat tails,ears and faces, and that will depend on severity. The fee will be $10 per area.
Sometimes there are cases that the matting is so severe that it will be too painful or dangerous for the dog to go through and will need to be shaved. I will always let you know if this needs to be done, and there will be no extra charge for that.

We understand that no one likes price increases but we believe these modest charges will cover our increased overhead caused by inflation, and in doing so we will be able to continue to focus on the quality of our services to make your dogs look and feel their very best. We appreciate each and every one of our clients and the trust you have in us taking care of your dogs.

The kitties haven't been very photogenic this week. Imagine that! Lol. Leo was in for a Lion Cut today, and he had some pretty big mats. He was very vocal at first, but then settled down quickly. Due to our shelter being full of adorable cats, our $1 Cat Day returns tomorrow, June 28th! If you've been wanting to add a feline friend to your family, now's the purr-fect time. All cats ages 6 months and older will have an adoption fee of just $1. That $1 fee INCLUDES their vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and microchip. We'll be open from 12-6pm, so be sure to swing on by - no appointment is needed! ✨
