Duke and Shaman are soaking in this crisp fall morning, just as they were meant to. There’s something special about watching our horses roam the pasture day and night, side by side, instead of being cooped up in a stall. Right after sunrise, they come to life, playing and embracing the gift of a new day. It’s a quiet reminder of life’s simple joys.

**Jenna - Gorgeous, Gentle, and Ready for Her Next Home**

Jenna is an absolute sweetheart, up to date on all care her entire life, and we are only her second owners. She’s been genetic tested and is clear of any concerns. You won’t find a horse with a more genuine, people-loving personality—she truly cares about her humans! With her stunning looks, she always turns heads, and she’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

Jenna is an easy keeper, maintaining her weight well, strong barefoot, and a healthy, solid horse to ride. She’s great in a stall, comfortable in a herd, and just an overall joy to be around. She’s always the first one to greet you, no matter where you are on the property. Jenna has thrived in our family business, interacting with customers and making everyone fall in love with her. She’s safe, fun, and steady.

Jenna excels both in the arena and out on trails and fields. She has participated in multiple horsemanship clinics, where experienced students have worked with her on advanced groundwork and riding. Currently, most of her riders in our program are beginners, and she responds beautifully to seat and leg cues. That said, she can easily transition to more advanced riding, moving off the bit and showing forward movement when asked. She’s capable of lateral movements, including side-passing, and she never tires, even after a full day of riding.

Carrying large men on the trails or toddlers on a lunge line, Jenna takes care of her riders. Weather doesn’t faze her either—whether it’s -35 or 115 degrees here in Illinois, she stays healthy and happy. She doesn’t need to be ridden daily to stay well-behaved; she just loves the attention and being around people. Jenna stands like a pro for grooming, tacking, bathing, the farrier, deworming— cross-tied or single-tied, she’s perfectly behaved.

We have nothing but good things to say about Jenna. We’ve made the decision to reduce our herd, and while we’ll miss her dearly, we’re looking for a home where she can get the love and attention she thrives on. She would be perfect for a riding academy or a single owner who wants a horse to dote on & adore. Or we’d love nothing more than keeping her here in our herd if you need boarding!

Stella “O’Dells Elegant Estelle” our homebred and raised yearling filly showed at the Illinois State Fair this weekend. We are so proud of her for placing 2nd in both her classes!! She is beautiful, kind and has great confirmation. We were happy to show her off to many others this weekend. My has she changed in ONE year. Our first draft show was a success. Special thanks to Kendra @ Alamar Acres Clydesdales for having the best stallions and also being the most supportive coach!
Stella may not have your typical scotch shoes or docked tail & her feathers are a little wild this year as she lives her best life outside in our herd! But she is also the most fun loving, trustworthy girl you could meet. *If you’ve made it this far and have a funny or sweet photo with her please post it in the comments below!

*Fun fact: Stella was named after my grandmother who started this business 3 generations ago. My Grandma Stella would have loved the hot pink decorations I had custom made for her as she always looked her best in every outfit, everyday.

Great float trip on a part of the Lincoln Heritage Canoe Trail. Located on the Sangamon River. Dedicated in 1965 by Governor Otto Kerner. Because of the important role the river was in Abraham Lincoln’s life. In this scenic adventure you could see American Bald Eagles, Great Blue Heron, turtles, and many other species of wildlife. Come enjoy nature in a relaxing environment.

Fridays our horses enjoy their day off!
It also happens to be the day Dr Andria Cogswell Equine Veterinarian Chiropractor sees them. We are so lucky to have her come monthly to keep our horses in the best shape! She has been seeing our herd for many years. This is one of the many things that keeps our aged horses happy and healthy to continue riding daily.
Nile was very relaxed & happy to see Dr today!
Nile is 22 years young this year. Seems like yesterday when he was born in the indoor with a floppy ear after his mom survived the West Nile outbreak and the vets were unsure what his delivery would show. ♥️

Stella, our charming Clydesdale yearling, had a chance to show off her impressive growth on Saturday. A year ago, a 4H member crafted a cardboard cutout using her measurements, and comparing it now, it's clear just how much she's grown. It’s wonderful to see the difference, and it looks like Stella is just as proud as we are!

Today, Jojo embarked on his annual visit to First Impressions Daycare, spreading joy with every step. As we celebrate his fifth year as a cherished member of our family, we've realized that the countless smiles he's brought into our lives are beyond measure.
