Great float trip on a part of the Lincoln Heritage Canoe Trail. Located on the Sangamon River. Dedicated in 1965 by Governor Otto Kerner. Because of the important role the river was in Abraham Lincoln’s life. In this scenic adventure you could see American Bald Eagles, Great Blue Heron, turtles, and many other species of wildlife. Fridays our horses enjoy their day off!
It also happens to be the day Dr Andria Cogswell Equine Veterinarian Chiropractor sees them. We are so lucky to have her come monthly to keep our horses in the best shape! She has been seeing our herd for many years. This is one of the many things that keeps our aged horses happy and healthy to continue riding daily.
Nile was very relaxed & happy to see Dr today!
Nile is 22 years young this year. Seems like yesterday when he was born in the indoor with a floppy ear after his mom survived the West Nile outbreak and the vets were unsure what his delivery would show. ♥️

Stella, our charming Clydesdale yearling, had a chance to show off her impressive growth on Saturday. A year ago, a 4H member crafted a cardboard cutout using her measurements, and comparing it now, it's clear just how much she's grown. It’s wonderful to see the difference, and it looks like Stella is just as proud as we are!

With horse camp registration opening tomorrow, we’ve received a lot of the same questions that we’d like to answer. If you call, please leave a detailed message so we can get back to you asap.
- Does camp typically sell out? Yes, since starting online only registration in 2022 our camps have sold out for the summer within 24 hours each year.
- How is payment accepted? Payments are online in registration through debit or credit cards.
- We have a new feature this year to register multiple children at the same time and also select multiple weeks at once. We have many campers who attend multiple sessions each summer, so hopefully this helps.
- Please look over the weeks offered ahead of time to be sure you know which to select once it goes live.
~We cannot wait to see all returning & also new campers this year.

Our horses don’t mind the cold, they’d rather be outside together with their dry shelter, hay and friends. However, it’s the dramatic temperature change that can set them back from drinking enough water to stay hydrated. We take extra steps trying to keep them safe when the weather changes. They’re already on salt/electrolytes since they’re active all year long. But on days like today we add in a warm mash to ensure everyone has extra water intake. The mash is beet pulp & alfalfa pellets soaked in hot water until it’s nice and sloppy! * Fancy is shown in this video enjoying her morning mash!
