From October 1st-January 15th, you can sign up to make payroll deductions that will automatically come out of your paycheck and go straight to the lifesaving work being done at APL to save animals in need. You get to choose how much is deducted and for how many paychecks you would like that amount deducted for.

About our lifesaving work: APL is dedicated to caring for sick, injured, and abused homeless animals in our community and then working to find them loving homes with responsible owners. Every year, APL finds homes for around 2,000 cats and dogs. Ever since the opening of our Spay/Neuter Clinic in 2006, we have decreased the euthanasia rates in Sangamon County by 89.49%!

Join Us for a Spooktacular Night of Trivia!
Get ready for a frightfully fun evening at APL’s Fall "Addams Family" Trivia Night on Friday, November 14th at the Columbian Grand Hall (2200 S. Meadowbrook Rd, Springfield, IL).
Doors open: 6:00 p.m.
Trivia begins: 7:00 p.m.
The night will feature 9 rounds of general trivia plus one special Addams Family-themed prize round! Each member of the winning team for the themed round will take home a spooky prize basket from Pease's at BUNN Gourmet.

We’re brewing up some spooky fun for our Halloween-themed Boo Bark fundraiser, and we need your help! While the dogs sniff out treats at their own pup-friendly stations, we want to make sure the humans—big and small—have plenty of sweets to enjoy too. Please consider donating a bag of candy and drop it off at the APL Shelter by October 18th to help us make this howling good time a treat for everyone!

APL Dogs are having a blast at Yappy Hour until 7pm tonite at the Curve Inn!

Come meet and greet Pep, Celeret, Snickers, Hershey and Athena. Tito’s Handmade Vodka is here supporting, handing out FREE Vodka for Dog People merchandise. APL has free tshirts as well. Sip on the special Tito’s PupTails cocktail menu, and with each drink
purchase Tito’s will make a donation to APL.

🐾 Big hearts and helping hands make our clinic shine. Our Spay & Neuter Clinic has been busier than ever, and we could really use some extra volunteers. We’re looking for helpers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1–4 pm to keep things running smoothly.

💻 If you’ve got basic computer skills, you can help at the front desk—greeting customers, checking them in, and pointing them in the right direction (training provided, of course!). Not a computer whiz? No worries—you can still lend a paw by helping with laundry and keeping everything fresh and ready for our furry friends.

🐾✨ Huge shoutout to Hayden Stephens for going above and beyond for our pups! Hayden has been busy hand-making all kinds of dog agility equipment for our APL dogs to enjoy—and let us tell you, the tails are wagging non-stop. 🐶💨

From jumps to other fun obstacles, Hayden has given our dogs the chance to play, train, and burn off some energy in the best way possible. We are so grateful for the time, creativity, and love put into every piece. The dogs are having an absolute blast, and so are we watching them zoom around. Thank you, Hayden—you’ve truly made a difference, and APL (and the pups!) appreciate you! 🐾
