🎃🐾 Happy Halloween from Becky’s Pet Care! 🐾🎃

We wish you a safe and spooktacular Halloween! As you enjoy the festivities, don’t forget to keep your furry friends safe. Here are some tips to ensure a fun night for everyone:

1. Costume Caution: If your pet is rocking a costume, make sure it's comfortable and doesn’t restrict their movement. Always supervise them while they're dressed up and remove the costume if they seem uncomfortable.

2. Candy is a No-Go: Keep all Halloween treats, especially chocolate, out of your pet's reach. If you suspect your pet has snuck a sweet, contact your vet immediately.

3. Decorate Wisely: Be cautious with decorations. Ensure that items like candles and glow sticks are out of reach to prevent any accidents.

4. Secure Your Space: With trick-or-treaters at your door, your pet might get anxious. Keep them in a quiet, secure room away from the front door to prevent escapes.

5. Stay Indoors: On Halloween night, it's best to keep your pets indoors to avoid any startling noises or costumes that might scare them.

📸 We’d love to see your pets in their Halloween costumes! Share your favorite photos with us in the comments below! Let’s celebrate together while keeping our furry friends safe and happy!

Stay safe and have a howling good time! 🐶🎉

Happy Meme Monday!

This Halloween, let’s keep our furry friends safe while we enjoy the spooky festivities. As you prepare for trick-or-treaters and decorate your home, remember that some Halloween treats and decorations can be harmful to pets. Keep candy out of reach, especially chocolate and xylitol, which can be toxic to dogs.

When it comes to costumes, ensure your pet is comfortable and safe—avoid anything that restricts movement or has small parts they could swallow. Also, be mindful of the extra foot traffic around your home; a sudden knock at the door can scare your pet. Create a cozy space away from the commotion, where they can feel secure.

At Becky’s Pet Care, we’re committed to the well-being of your pets. Share your Halloween safety tips or let us know how you plan to keep your pets safe this season.

Rico needs a new forever home!!

He is a super affectionate dog and he is great with cats!

A little bit about this snazzzy guy...
Rico is a very sweet, affectionate dog with some stranger danger issues. He is a little wary of new people but a handful of treats convinces him pretty quickly that a stranger is ok. He warms up to his caretakers and even guests pretty quickly. After those initial treats are provided it seals the deal for approval and he turns into such a sweet cuddle bug.

He's a 3 years old, 50 lbs (though he looks smaller) mixed breed dog. He is a very nice boy who is a pretty easy house guest. He settles down well and is calm in the house. He is not instant friends with many dogs he meets on walks but with the right motivation and treats usually he will walk right by a dog, Hakuna Matata style! He will do best as the only dog in his next foster or adopter home. He is very good with most cats. He even brought his toys to his current foster cat to ask her to play with him. Yes, he is THAT ADORABLE!

He's very affectionate and loves to give kisses. He will do best in a home with kids over 14 yrs even though he's been in homes with younger kids and was fine. He sleeps on a couch, a dog bed or his crate at night with the door open and has been an exceptional house guest. He is totally house trained and has an amazing bladder. He is really a great boy.

Rico needs Y-O-U!!! If you are interested in helping Rico please email our foster director today at [email protected]

October 1st is National Black Dog Day! It’s a day to get the word out and encourage people to adopt black dogs, who often get left behind in shelters just because of the color of their fur.

“Black Dog Syndrome” is a phenomenon where black dogs are passed over for adoption in favor of lighter-colored animals. Black dogs are more likely to be euthanized in shelters regardless of their breed.

Some say it’s because they look scary or angry, or you can’t read their expressions as easily, or they don’t look as good in photos. Some say that their black fur hides their distinct personalities.

Help break stereotypes and spread the truth on National Black Dog Day, October 1st. These dogs deserve homes just as much as dogs of any other color! Got a black dog? Post your photos and share!
