Holiday cheer is in the air—but let’s keep it safe for our pets!
Festive decorations, twinkling lights, and shiny ornaments can all be hazards for curious pets. Think climbing cats and toppled trees, or a pup chewing on light cords.
Decorations aren’t the only concern. Holiday plants like mistletoe, holly, and poinsettias are toxic to cats and dogs. Stick to faux greenery or keep them out of reach.
Holiday treats can be tempting for pets, but many seasonal foods like chocolate, raisins, and latke are dangerous.
Check out this full guide on holiday pet safety—because festive fun is better without an emergency vet visit! 🐶❤️ https://pbxx.it/olQKOU

📢 Calling All Animal Lovers! 🐾

This holiday season, let’s show some extra love to the furry friends waiting for their forever homes! 🐶🐱 Our local Clark County rescue organizations, AWL and SPCA, are in need of:

🦴 Dog & cat food (wet or dry)
🎾 Toys for dogs and cats
🍖 Treats
🛏️ Cat litter

Every donation, big or small, makes a huge difference! ❤️ You can drop off items at our clinic, and we’ll ensure they get to AWL and SPCA. The drop box is located in our lobby.
Let’s come together as a community and help these amazing organizations care for animals in need. Donations will be accepted until January 4th. Thank you for your generosity!

Important information about Clark County dog tags! 🐶🐾

Important information about Clark County dog tags! 🐶🐾

2025 Clark County Dog Tags are on sale beginning today through January 31, 2025.

One-year, three-year and permanent (lifetime of dog) licenses are available this year. Cost is $22 for a one-year tag, $66 for the three-year tag and $220 for a permanent tag.

Beginning this year, Clark County has partnered with DocuPet for dog licensing services. All dog owners who purchased a tag last year will receive an email and a renewal in the mail with information about how to access their account online.

“We are excited about our partnership with DocuPet as their online licensing solution will be extremely valuable to dog owners and necessary for animal safety within the community,” said Clark County Auditor Hillary Hamilton. “This pet licensing partnership will help reduce the number of dogs in our local shelters and open space and vital resources for dogs that truly need care. We are excited for residents to utilize this program to help protect their dogs and all pets in the community.”

Dog tags can be purchased online at:

https://clarkcountyohio.docupet.com/

For more information about logging in to DocuPet, click here.

Tags can also be purchased in person at the Clark County Auditor’s Office, 31 N. Limestone Street, Springfield or the Clark County Dog Shelter, 5201 Urbana Road, Springfield. Dog tag purchases are not available at remote locations this year.

All dogs over three months old and that have been owned for more than 30 days are required to be licensed per the State of Ohio.

A dog license also serves as an identification tag, making it much easier for the Clark County Dog Warden’s Office to return a dog to their owner if they’re lost. The tag also serves as proof of ownership in case of a dispute.

Tags purchased after January 31, 2025 will be subject to a $22 penalty per tag.

All proceeds from Dog Tag purchases are used to fund the Clark County Dog Shelter.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Helene, ASPCA® Pet Health Insurance partnered with The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®), donating $25,000 to provide 216 dog houses for families in need. These shelters will offer a safe haven for pets whose usual indoor homes have been damaged by the hurricane.
In addition to building these dog houses, ASPCA® Pet Health Insurance is supporting customers affected by natural disasters like Hurricane Helene by extending grace periods, providing extensions for claim submissions, and more.
To date, the ASPCA® has helped over 15,000 animals through dog house building and additional relief efforts such as emergency shelters, pet supply distribution, veterinary care, reuniting lost pets with their families, and more. https://pbxx.it/rwSMyJ
