Our little Hollywood celebrities are just over two wks old and it is now time to display them as individuals. Everyone is walking, and learning more each day. They have found their little voices and seem to enjoy using them most at night. I can not wait for the weeks to come because they’re going to start getting more fun. 🥰

🛑🛑 WAIT TIME CHANGE 🛑🛑

I have some good news to share, I will have availability for a puppy for anyone interested in a puppy out of my next planned litter. Normally our wait time is a little longer, typically 6-9 months. But with my last two litters being good sized, and being the sexes i actually needed I have been able to accommodate all my clients that were already approved on my list. So now I am not as overwhelmed with my list I can safely start to take on more applications.

So it has come time to make a tough decision on our sweet little Yuri, I held her back from my Veterans Day litter in hopes she would be a nice show/breeding prospect. Even though Yuri is amazing in every way she has a small attribute that I’m not sure I can look past in order to add her fully into the program. Yuri is just over 6 months and is full of personality. She’s been to several dog events, many shows and fast cat events. She has also competed in puppy 4-6 mon class in Louisville and she did fantastic.
She has been around children but she is a little cautious at first but does warm up quickly. I think because most children she sees are on her daily walks and small children can move a little too fast for a puppy sometimes. Yuri could
Be placed in a home with cats, other dogs and or be by herself. She would prob need a little time to adjust to being by herself but I do not expect her to struggle with it in any way. Yuri is fully house broke and crate trained. She walks wonderfully on a lead and just likes to take her time enjoying all the smells and sounds. She is not a very driven puppy so she could be very easy to live with. Energy level on her is very low aside from when she’s playing with her pack. I will be extremely selective on who I place her with. I would love a repeat owner who is considering a second dog but I am also not opposed to giving someone new a chance to own this wonderful schnauzer. So the little girl successfully pulled off an incredible wknd in Bloomington, Illinois. Vera was awarded on Fri- Select
Then Sat-Select
Sun- BOS
Mon- BOS. This put Vera well over what she needed to finish her Grand Championship and again with all MAJORS!!!
She’s just over 16 months and has accomplished so much in her short career. I am beyond proud of her and thankful for the help of a couple amazing handlers who have Taken Vera out as a Special for me and have showcased her potential.

Now that everything has calmed down, and we are settled in at home I can share how our weekend went. Here in Springfield our show weekend was amazing to say the least.
Friday – Vera went Best of opposite

I am very pleased with the results. My dogs showed lovely, and we all had a great time.
Big Thanks to Vera’s Handler Ashley Waters for highlighting all her amazing qualities. She showed Vera beautifully and her grooming was outstanding. Now on to the next cluster.

This Boopster has only had 2 accidents since she’s been exclusively on her own here. I can not stress the massive game changer using an Xpen Potty zone in the yard is. It literally makes things happen instantly and no matter the weather, or distractions, it is FOOL PROOF!

Dogs are dogs. They're not fur babies. They're not children. They're dogs.

That doesn't mean I don't love my dogs. It doesn't mean you can't call them your "kids" or "fur children." But for their sake, respect that they are dogs. Treat them well, but treat them as they should be.

People humanizing dogs is actually what's getting a lot of them put down, rehomed, dumped, and loaded with behavioral issues.

The best way to honor and love your dog is to respect the fact that they are different from us. That's part of what makes them so amazing!!

Bringing home a new dog and giving it whatever it wants, whenever it wants, is not setting them up for success. It may feel good to "spoil" them. I get it, but what you're actually doing is creating a brat.

I hear this often: "My dog bit our friend on the couch because he thinks the couch is his." OK, who let them think that? The dog didn't just waltz in and claim your couch. The dog wasn't given boundaries to begin with. I let my dogs on the couch, but if I tell them to get off and go to their bed, they will without hesitation. They've earned that privilege based on respect, trust, and understanding.

If you want to "spoil" your dog, do it by setting them up for success. Exercise them, give them boundaries, give them a job, and give them what they actually need instead of the latest squeaky toy. The time you spend playing with your dog means more than the toy itself.

Love your dog. Cherish your dog. Respect your dog, but for the love of the dog, TREAT THEM LIKE A DOG.

(And before anyone wants to say something silly...My dogs are my family. They literally signed my marriage certificate, but they also have boundaries. Just like any healthy family should!)

The Bouquet Litter earned a champion. 🥁 Ch.Bernstein's Light My Fire (Flame) CGC earned his championship at the Peach Blossom Cluster in Perry, Georgia, over the weekend. This accomplishment mirrors his mother's achievement from exactly two years prior. So proud of this handsome boy!
