We are dedicating playgroup to Rick for all his hard work getting the big yard ready to play in.
This owner said their dog is a 9 out of 10 when it sees another dog. It barks and lunges and screams. This is its first session with us.
This is Lilly’s first training. Many dogs feel like it’s their job to protect the territory. These owners have to meet people outside because Lilly is so intimidating and they’ve stopped having guests over because she growls if they move about. But we are helping her relax and trust her people so this behavior doesn’t transfer to the new puppy. 😊 we will keep you posted on her progress!
This puppy is from the rescue I follow on TikTock so super fun to have that connection. We are making sure big sister Lilly accepts her role as mentor so the pup grows up with the best life possible.
Sometimes you have to get creative.

We are needing to rehome Coco because of “litter-mate syndrome”. We bought both her and her sister and we were not aware of the risks involved in getting litter mates. We would be happy to pay a surrender fee or make a donation of $200-$300 to an organization that is able to take her on and find her a more appropriate home. We value the work that rescue organizations do. We realize that this is not easy work, especially with SO many dogs needing homes. Thank you for considering Coco. Please let me know if you would be able to take her on. Below is a description of Coco.
Coco is a sweet and loving 2 ½ year old female mixed breed. She is ¼ Lab, ¼ Mastiff, 1/8 Boxer, 1/8 Maremma, 1/8 Malamute and 1/8 Whippet. She behaves a lot like a lab in many ways. She is friendly, likes people, loves water, playing fetch and running in the pasture. She is devoted to her human companions. She loves attention, but is not overly needy.
We worked with a trainer who suggested we use a prong collar to teach her to lead. We learned the correct way to use the collar and Coco is very good at walking on leash this way. We think Coco would make a great running or hiking companion. Coco is house trained and crate trained. She is energetic, but also loves to sit close and relax for long periods. She loves belly rubs, neck scratches and sits happily to be brushed. Coco happily comes when she is called. She sits, lays down and stays on command.
Coco has been spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccinations/immunizations. She weighs about 90 pounds and has a beautiful coat of fur. She sometimes jumps when she is excited and can be a little mouthy when she plays. We think she would do best in a family where she is the only dog. It’s possible that she gets along well with other dogs, but she and her litter mate became aggressive with our older lab. We assume that if she and her litter mate are separated, she would not be aggressive with other dogs, but we don’t know. Coco is not aggressive with humans. She has grown up with our toddler and never shown aggression toward him.
Coco will come to her new home with a crate, a prong collar, a bag of food and a favorite toy.

We have to cancel playgroup for the day. So sorry we will be open Sunday.
Playgroup friend Ollie. Had a birthday 🎈
This is my walking crew this morning. We ran into a gaggle of kids playing in the street and so of course, they all wanted to pet the dogs. It nice to have dogs you know will be safe with the kids.
I e seen some crazy things as a dog trainer.
Getting siblings can mean double trouble but these are in tune with their owner now!
Cody doesn’t like that I won’t let him jump on his elderly owners. 😆
Eighty five year old client wanted to have one last Doberman but the pup has been kind of impossible to walk. They were using a harness and treats but the pup would buck and pull so we tried the whispering method.
Irys had her first day at playgroup today. Playing with their own species is an important developmental stage of communication
I am so proud of Ranger and his people! He used to loose his mind when any vehicle drove by, especially trucks. He would lunge and bark and attack their other dog and bite at his leash and spin. They accomplished this level of calm with one session!! Everyone is safer and happier!!!
We can help. Even if your dog is older. This Ridgeback lived on acreage until recently and now learning to walk nicely on a leash is important.
After 5 minutes with our technique she is in tune and more focused.
Walking this young pup was a constant struggle, choking and pulling herself through three miles sometimes.before training
The difference between taking your pet places and a service dog.
Who’s ready for Playgroup today? 🙋🏼♀️
Playgroup is cancelled for Thursday 2/29. I’m so sorry to have to miss a day but we have the fresh chips in now to keep everyone cleaner. Thank you to those who were able to donate and to Rick for all his work and Kurt for shoveling. Please come see us Sunday.
Pinch is part Husky. Can you tell?
Playgroup on the 25th.
Thank you so much to those who could donate for new wood chips. If you can spare an hour at the end of big kids playgroup tomorrow 4-5, to help shovel out the old chips so the new ones can be brought in this week it would really help us out. Please bring a shovel if you can.
This is the pup five minutes later with my method.
This is a pup that they spent $500 on training at a competitor

Hello playgroup members! Our spot has become quite muddy with all of this rain so we are going to do some revamping. Next week, we will remove the old wood chips and lay down a landscape barrier against the water seeping up and have new chips blown in. We want to get back to returning your dogs to you clean. This is a $500 project so if you can chip in any amount to help it would be appreciated. Venmo@ jbowleader. We should have it completed by Thursday.
