Cracker Jack nailing a hard Excellent Jumpers course this summer. Wish him luck on his agility trial in Carthage this weekend!
Nigel's comparison run. He took an off course jump right after the dog walk and dilly dallied around the table, both of which disqualify the run. But he was having fun.
Cracker Jack had an excellent weekend, qualifying 3 out of 4 runs and earning his excellent title in the standard/obstacle courses. Nigel, a direct quote from my trainer, "lost his brain" and was 0 for 4. He was having fun though, although at my expense. I'm hoping with maturity I can get a handle on my fast but loose cannon.
Nigel's "oops" in the weave poles.
My fur kids did well this weekend. Nigel had a mishap in the poles (he hit the first pole too fast and threw him off balance and he popped out of the weaves before finishing). Cracker Jack was on fire for his first time out in the Excellent Jumpers course and got his first qualification in the higher class. All in all a good weekend, and we will be back at it the weekend of July 7th. Hope everyone had a good weekend!
My fur kids did well this weekend at the agility trial! Nigel earned his second qualifying score in the Excellent class, and Cracker Jack earned his hard fought Open title in Jumpers as well as received his first qualifying score in the Excellent class as well. The video below is of his Open run. Slow in the weaves due to trial anxiety and the poles being right next to the audience, and he had a stumble after one jump but he quickly recovered and my little guy powered through. Proud of my little furry dudes! Thanks again for your understanding of me taking some time off to have fun with my kiddos. Becky
My fur kids did well this weekend! Cracker Jack earned his Open (Intermediate) title in the Standard (obstacle) course with his perfect run. Still has a little trial stress, especially on the A-frame and through the weave poles, but otherwise he did great. Nigel earned his first Excellent Q in the Jumpers course with a perfect score at 29.87 seconds (42 second time limit; he was my little brown furry torpedo). We'll be back at it this coming weekend, so again the clinic will be closed on Friday so my fur kids can continue to kick butt in the ring :)
Nigel would have nailed this run except for the one dropped bar. Still proud of my little man for his first time running with the big kids.🥰
Thanks for understanding for us being closed this past Friday so that I could play with my poodles at an agility competition. Nigel (brown poodle) overall did well with his first showing in the Excellent class but alas no qualifications. Cracker Jack (white poodle) was much happier and confident in his runs, and he earned a Q in his class, with one fault (he bounced off the table). Overall was a good weekend, and will be back at it three weekends in June (again, sorry for the up and coming closures on Fridays). Becky
Dog agility season is in full swing, and I will apologize in advance that there will be a few Fridays in May, June and July where the clinic will be closed so that I can attend with my fur kids. This is a video of my poodle Cracker Jack this past weekend. We are working through his performance anxiety during trials. He needed to be coaxed through the weaves, and was about half his normal speed going over the jumps as he is in practice, but he did earn his first qualifying score in his class.
A little sloppy on my part, but my poodle Nigel got a perfect score on his agility trial run this past weekend! Proud of my little man :) Becky
Jason has been spending time at the clinic helping with files and monitoring the activities at the front desk. He still has speech and mobility issues but he is doing his best to compensate. Feel free to stop by and say hello. He misses his clients.
My poodle Nigel had his first experience with a more advanced agility course this weekend, and he got a perfect score in the jumpers portion of the competition and nailed it in 27 seconds! I love my little man. We still have a lot of work to do, but this little guy is going places, if only I can keep up.
