The only thing Bowser will steal is your heart! Bowser is an affectionate 5-6 month old puppy. He is a fun guy to be around who enjoys playing, cuddling, and tummy rubs! Bowser is smaller than he looks, at 23 pounds, and will most likely top out at 35-40 pounds. He is the size of a beagle right now. Bowser gets along well with other dogs. Bowser is very food motivated and will be a lot of fun to train. He loves people and will be a wonderful addition to any home looking for an amazing puppy.

Fantastic Fred is ready to love you!! Fred came up with his mom, Dandelion, and 4 littermates. He was underweight and needed some extra TLC. He is now happy, healthy, neutered, and ready to head to his forever home! He was 4 pounds when he came and is now over 8 pounds! Fred is 3 months old and should be around 40-50 pounds, mom is 47 pounds, and dad is unknown. Fred is a cuddle monster, making it hard to get pictures, as all he wants to do is be in my arms. Fred is a confident guy who met dogs, cats, and goats while in a foster home. He had zero fear of the tractor. We're open Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 4. If you're looking to add a cuddly, playful puppy to your home, Fred might be the guy for you!!

Fun-loving sweet guy hopes he is your dream dog as you are his dream person! Donnie is 5-6 months old and only 21 pounds. He is going to be the perfect adult weight as he is not going to be too small or too large! He would enjoy a home with an active walker or hiker, as being outside and breathing in all the smells brings him lots of joy! He has an adorable face and an even more adorable stub tail! Donnie is eager for a home, and we cannot wait for him to have the family he has been dreaming about. We are open Wed-Sat from Noon to 4 for walk-ins.

The Springfield Humane Society will be CLOSING EARLY on January 22nd, 2026, due to our Spay and Neuter Clinic.

The shelter will be open for visiting from 12-3pm this day, but will have normal hours the rest of the week, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 12-4pm!

🐱Cat Nail Trim Clinic is on January 17th from 10-12pm. Walk-in ONLY! All cats must arrive in a carrier for safety. One cat per carrier, please.

🐶Dog Nail Trim Clinic is on January 31st from 10-12pm. Walk-in ONLY! All dogs must arrive on a leash. Please, no retractable leashes.

Cost is $15 for both cats or dogs. Cash is preferred. (3.5% surcharge for card payments)

**Please note: The safety of our staff is of our utmost importance. Any animal that is acting in an aggressive manner may be asked to leave. There could be an extra $5 charge for difficult to handle pets.

This handsome guy is 1 year old Benny. Benny is a snow Bengal looking for a loving indoor home. Benny was brought in after he started bullying the other cats in his home. He is out of his cage during the day and has been fine with the cats here, but his roommates are shy and do not explore much during the day so may be best as a single pet. Benny is sweet with the softest fur. He loves to be pet, but prefers a more calm environment. Benny is an adorable guy with beautiful blue eyes and will bring lots of love and joy to a Bengal knowlegable home.

Not all heroes wear capes and Dandelion's new mom is proof of that! Dandelion is heartworm positive which made it a little more difficult to place her. After losing her dog, who she adopted from us and who also had heartworm, this woman knew she was meant to adopt another heartworm-positive dog, and Dandelion's sweet nature sealed the deal! Being experienced with successful heartworm treatment, Dandelion is in good hands, and we couldn't be happier for their future together. 😍

Sweet and beautiful Greta will be the queen of her castle! After seeing her online this woman came in right before we closed and fell in love instantly with Greta. We're so happy she will now get lots of love and attention and not have to share it with any other cats. ❤️
