Your Donations At Work

Mello and his family have been a part of Kane's Krusade for many years. He is always a super excited and friendly old man when we bring his C.A.R.E. Kit. When we visited last month, Mello was having a problem with his back legs. We authorized a visit to our furrends at the Dakin Humane Society Pet Health Center. Mello was already up to date on his vaccinations. He received two medications to help with his mobility and to keep him comfortable. We sponsored $91.05. Thanks to you, we are able to help this cherished family member stay comfortable in his golden years!

Last week, four Krew Teams delivered Canine Assistance, Resources and Empowerment (C.A.R.E.) Kits to more than 95 dogs and their families. That's over 95 C.A.R.E. Kits custom packed to meet the dietary requirements and other needs of our pet families in the Greater Springfield MA area. That's a lot of Krew members picking up donations, organizing and inventorying items and packing C.A.R.E. Kits! The heat and humidity make it extra challenging this time of year. But we have a great, hardworking, dedicated team made of Family Krew members and Board Members who work efficiently and effectively to get the job done!

A big, heartfelt thank you to all our pawtners out there: Eastfield Hospital for Animals, Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital, Smithland Pet & Garden, Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center and Westfield Animal Control and Shelter for their generous donations. We can't do what we do without you!

Feel Good Fri-YAY! SPAW Day!

It's an extra special FGFY and Bruno is here to show you why! This little nugget was feeling great after his neuter today. Bruno is normally a high strung Chi and very demanding of his hooman. But look how chill he is after surgery!

We provided a ride back and forth to our furrends at the Dakin Humane Society Spay Neuter Clinic. We are grateful to the Massachusetts Animal Coalition for providing a grant to cover Bruno's neuter. Thanks to your support, he also received his Rabies and Distemper/Parvo vaccines, microchip and pawdicure, which Kane's sponsored.

Bruno's hooman took him in after his previous hooman couldn't keep him due to housing requirements. We're so glad Bruno has a great home and happy to help keep them together.

We're giving BIG PAWS UP to our furrends at Smithland Pet & Garden in Westfield for their generous donation of dog food. We are so grateful for their support of the Kane's mission. Thank you to Miranda* and her team, who even helped us load.

It was blistering hot yesterday, with the heat index over 100 so we are giving a special bark out to Family Krew member Carl W. who helped us pick up the donation. Carl is always willing to step up at a moment's notice to help.

Feel Good Fri-YAY!

Athena is a 2.5 month old German Shepard/Golden Retriever combo who made some poor dining choices and ended up with a blockage. Our furrends at Tufts at Tech Community Veterinary Clinic in Worcester referred Athena's hoomans to us last week. Fortunately, we were able to respond quickly to the emergency referral. The family contributed $300 and Kane's sponsored the remaining $349.

$349 to save a life. Your donations empower us to be there for pet families in times of crisis. Athena's hooman Kayleigh said, "We love her so much. She's so good with my kids and such a smart girl. Thank you so much! Yesterday I was crying because I though I would have to give her up or she might die and now I'm crying because I get to keep her. All of you that helped are so amazing. I really thought I had no options."

Your Donations At Work

Tallulah and her hooman Laurie are a bonded pair if ever we did see one. Laurie is a senior living on a fixed income. Tallulah is a 5 year old terrier mix. It was time for this cutie's annual wellness and Laurie needed a little help to arrange the vet appointment and cover some of the expense. Kane's covered the exam and two vaccinations for a total of $78. Laurie covered the remaining $176.

A lot of times, pet families need assistance getting vet appointments and navigating treatment plans, etc. Thanks to you, for under $80, we made sure Tallulah got what she needed. Kane's support is often the bridge to dogs getting the wellness and care they need to live long, happy lives.
