Congrats to Dylan Derboven!

20 hour old recovery by Mulberry Bottoms Wounded Game Recovery in some of the worst conditions any of us have ever seen and this girl took her time and rocked it! This deer went to cross a dry creek and instead of crossing he walked down it for about 100 yards before deciding to climb a bank and exit. With an occasional drop of blood in the sand Paisely worked methodically, when she hit that wall in that creed she took her time checking every trail before deciding which one to take out of there. I only found one more drop of blood the remaining 250 yards of the track before spotting the buck, unfortunately already demolished by coyotes.

This deer would not have been recovered without a dog and for those drone enthusiasts, it wouldn’t have been found by a drone either. The leaf canopy on the trees is still just way too dense for thermals!

It's been a slow start to the season. I've been in a walking boot with a hurt foot since early September. With getting released later this week I decided to take a track this morning. This was a great first track of the year. 16 hours after shot. Ended up being single lung/liver/gut. Not a single drop of blood past the hunters point of loss, they only went 30 yards or so. It was a quick track 170 yards in 6 minutes. With these conditions I will take it.
