When Eva arrived at the care of Paws Humane, their rescue team quickly found Eva had an old fracture in her elbow and was unable to use her affected leg. To relieve her pain she required amputation. The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation was able to provide a medical grant for Eva’s medical care and we are so happy to see she’s healed up well and continues to be her happy and loving self. 💛

There *is* some truth to the belief that dogs are a good judge of character. Research has shown through their keen sense of smell and skilled read on human body language and cues, dogs will sometimes use that information to form an opinion of a person. A dog's sense of smell is 1000 times stronger than humans. These heightened senses allow dogs to smell the pheromones that evoke the human mood which also helps dogs pick up good and bad behaviors of a human.

Recognizing Senior Citizens Day with the doggos too! 💖

Even after enduring a traumatic injury inflicted by her previous owner, Esme became an inspiration to the team at the Foothills Animal Shelter as she never lost her sweet spirit. A representative at the shelter reported that “the medical treatment that Esme received truly saved her life after she was stabbed. Without the treatment, it is very unlikely Esme would have been able to fully recover but now she is running, playing, and loving like any other dog”. In even more wonderful news, Esme has since been adopted into a new, loving home! The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation is happy to aid in the support of pups in need alongside shelters and rescues who work diligently to give these deserving pups a second chance.
