The note below is the response after those amazing DogTors Teams paid a visit to the Waynesville School after their recent tragedy.

From Cristina at the Waynesville school:
Hi Meredith: I just wanted to thank you again for recommending Dogtors. They really came through. Six adorable dogs came to our Performing Arts Center this morning and the kids were able to split off into small groups and really get some much needed puppy love. Several of the staff told me that it was the first time some of those kids smiles since receiving the news of their classmates’ tragedy. The volunteers stayed for 2 hours and were so wonderful and professional with the children and the staff. I sent them all home with goodie bags for their dogs. Please thank your contact for me. Your very grateful volunteer, Cristina

Hello Teams, Clark State Community College, SPRINGFIELD, Leffel Lane Campus has two requests for DOGTORS Teams:

Pre-exam week is November 28th through 30th. They would like Teams on campus between 9:00 and 3:00. If you are able to help, let me know what days and times you are available. Previously, students and staff have been very appreciative of our presence and the dogs get lots of loving!

* If you would like to visit the BEAVERCREEK Campus, let me know and I will make that contact for the needed info.

Also, Clark State, Leffel Lane Campus, SPRINGFIELD is requesting Therapy Teams to visit on a regular basis, weekly, or twice a month - whatever works out best for the Teams. The Winter break is December 10 through January 16. Students and staff both have said this is a terrific way for them to “decompress”. There is no set schedule, visit the campus when it is convenient for you. You and your partner can work “solo” or double up with another Team that your dog works well with.

If you are able to help in either way, please contact me @

Hello Teams,
Fall has always been a busy season for DOGTORS. We need volunteers for three September events.
#1 There is a Disc Golf Fund Raising event at Arthur Fisher Park, 645 Infirmary Road, Dayton, on Saturday, September 24th. This is to benefit the nonprofit “Sophie’s Companions for Veterans” and has been organized by Patrick Gray, a Recreational Therapist at the VA, who works with several of our DOGTORS Teams. Our purpose in being there is to greet and talk with any participants who are interested in interacting with our partners. The founder of “Sophie’s Companions for Veterans” will speak briefly at 9:30 prior to the game starting.
The event should last an estimated time of 3 to 4 hours.
We are dividing the time into two shifts: 9:20 to 11:30 and 11:30 to 1:30. We will be at a picnic shelter, so we will have shade, and water will be provided for the dogs. If interested please contact Edith via e-mail or text at 937 284-0707.
#2 We are still needing volunteers for “Wuffstock” at Snyder Park in Springfield. This is also on Saturday, September 24th, 10:00 to 2:00. We are dividing this into shifts,
10:00 - 12:00 and
12:00 - 2:00. If you are available, please contact Edith.
#3 We can still use Teams for “stress relief” at Carlisle Jr / Sr High School, 250 Jamaica Rd, Carlisle on Wednesday September 14, from 10:00 to 10:30 (arrival should be 9:45). Contact Edith if you can help.
Thanks Teams for all you do - you are what makes DOGTORS great!

Germantown Public Library launched a summer reading program in June. Along with DOGTORS support, it has been an overwhelming success. The response from the Germantown community has been tremendous.
(YAY for DOGTORS Teams!)
The Library has decided to continue the reading program throughout the year. It is the second Saturday of each month 10:30-11:30. During good weather, we meet in their fenced in courtyard, otherwise we meet indoors in their fantastic Children’s area.
Four to Five Teams work well. We can schedule Teams month by month, so you do NOT need to commit for every month. Our next reading program will be Sept 10th. To volunteer, contact Edith by text at
937 284-0707 or at DOGTORS
e-mail.

Volunteers are still needed for Wuffstock, Saturday, September 25th, anytime from
10:00-2:00. Location of the event is by the dog park at Snyder Park in Springfield. This event is a fund raiser for National Parks and Trails and is family (and of course, dog) friendly. So come out and help at DOGTORS’ booth, or bring the family & enjoy the day.
To volunteer contact Edith by text at 937 284-0707 or by DOGTORS e-mail.
