At many chronically under-funded & over-capacity shelters, that qualifies to adopt. And sometimes, the dogs suffer the consequences.
Hence Trig's tragic story: adopted in January 2023, then picked up astray, emaciated, & suffering severe flea dermatitis, August 31. 💔
🚨And now, pending euthanasia 12pm Tuesday Sept 17.

There's a lot of stuff that you 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 don't 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 as a dog owner:

-You don't have to do any exposure work with your dog as a puppy.
-You don't have to take your puppy to a single puppy class.
-You don't have to make sure your puppy spends time -independently to develop independence.
-You don't even have to feed your puppy from your hand or install a marker word.
-You don't have to raise your dog to believe, with every fiber of his being, that you're always going to be more interesting than anything else that's out there in its environment.

But you don't do that stuff, and if your dog:

-Jumps on people
-Chews on everything
-Pulls on the leash, barks at all the time
-Is a nightmare to take anywhere outside the home

𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐃𝐎𝐆 because you 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬. You didn't have to do it, but you're also not entitled to the same great results as people who do put in the work.

Wow it has been a busy summer. A big thank you to my clients whom have entrusted me with their furbabies and have kept me busy. It's hard to believe it will be one year next month since I started pet sitting. With that being said, I will be taking off November 1st - 10th to rest and get ready for the upcoming holidays. I had hoped to take off in October and not so close to Thanksgiving but my calendar is almost full for September and October. If you haven't booked your pets stay for the holiday you might want to do so. Again thank you to those who have supported me this past year.
