Thought it best to save the big news for a new year. Starting Monday January 5th, we will have two full time veterinarians.
My friend since the first day of vet school orientation August 2006 has decide to come join me.
Dr. Paul Taylor is a New Mexico native and a graduate of Mississippi State with BS and DVM. He and I both graduated in 2010, and by happenstance both ended up in the same area where he’s been practicing for the past 13 years I’m glad we’ve remained close, and glad his wife allowed him to come join Big Springs Veterinary Clinic.
He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and doesn’t shy away from much, which is even more awesome.
We hope to be able to see more pets and their people while maintaining the small town, small practice feel.
We welcome him to this wonderful community with all the warmth we’ve experienced the past 4 years.
He will have doctors hours Monday thru Thursday so go ahead and book those days!

4 years ago today was the first day of business at the clinic. Man what a wild 4 years it’s been. Extremely thankful to my wife and children and our newest addition coming soon.
Also super thankful to springville and the surrounding communities for their support. And thank you to all who trust us with your pets care.
Hopefully big things to come in 2026.

Update: Holiday Hours

Thanksgiving: closed Thursday November 27th and Friday November 28th

Christmas: closed Wednesday December 24th thru Friday December 26th.

New Years: closed Thursday January 1st. Reopen Friday the 2nd.

There will be days in December and Early January I will have decreased doctors hours. I apologize for this inconvenience but I will have another child due soon in December and will require more time at home.

Great case from about 2 weeks ago. This middle aged female spayed miniature schnauzer was having recurrent bladder infections.
This little gal has a recessed or hooded v***a.
This can occur because of confirmation issues and even excessive weight causing redundant tissue.
This tissue can cause v***ar dermatitis and therefore recurrent bladder infections.

We did a vulvoplasty to remove redundant tissue. These are before, post op, and at suture removal.
We believe this will help prevent recurrence of bladder infections in the future.

Some pain meds and antibiotics along with opening up this abscess and we are better.
