Have I told yall how much I love our local hardware/feed store?!?! Harrison Supply has been such a big part of our journey. From always making sure our horse feed is stocked, to selling our repurposed feed bags to help us raise money, to helping us pick out materials needed to build the barn. Plus Summer Harrison Latty is one of my favorite humans. She puts up with my crazy ideas and supports my shenanigans😄 I'm so thankful for this family and their awesome store. Not even sure where to begin with this post. This family is so precious to me. Alyson & Tyler Mock have been such an encouraging & inspiring part of our journey. I love this family so much. We've had the great privilege of sharing our love of horses with their 3 beautiful children. What started as just knowing them from church has blossomed into a wonderful friendship. I'm so thankful God brought them into our life. The Mocks own a real piece of heaven & they use it to bless others. Canaan Acres is truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Thank you for helping make tomorrow so special by preparing & blessing our event with a delicious mini menu. Good morning sweet friends! Long post but PLEASE take a few minutes to read & share🙏We are exactly ONE week away from our upcoming fundraising event benefitting Light Of The World Adaptive Horsemanship. I would like to kick off this party TODAY by sharing what our program is all about, what our mission statement is, as well as, improvements etc we aim to add to the property in order to better enhance the experience of our visitors.
💜Light Of The World Adaptive Horsemanship is a 501c3 nonprofit which means donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE🎉
💜Our mission statement: Helping others heal & grow while enjoying one of God's greatest gifts, horses.
💜What is ADAPTIVE HORSEMANSHIP?
Adaptive horsemanship, also known as therapeutic riding, is a recreational activity that combines sport, recreation, and education to teach horsemanship skills to people with disabilities. It's designed for individuals who are at least four years old and have a variety of needs and ability levels. Adaptive horsemanship can include riding, carriage driving, and vaulting, and can be mounted or unmounted. Lessons are developed by qualified equine professionals who use their knowledge of disabilities to teach skills and provide a variety of benefits.
Adaptive horsemanship can help people with disabilities improve their cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being. It can help them build confidence, practice boundaries, and maintain physical strength. It can also help them learn about animal safety and care, and explore new social-emotional skills.
🦄Our future plans for the barn include:
💜 Ramps for safely loading & unloading participants on & off of horses.
💜A pergola around the firepit, a great way for visitors to socialize & connect with others. This area will also be utilized for bible study groups etc.
💜We are still in need of 13 fans for the horse stalls. I will include an Amazon link to these fans under a picture.
💜We would like to start researching the best options for outdoor heating (to be used during colder temps in the indoor arena). Our hope is to still provide our services during the Winter while keeping our participants & horses as comfortable as possible.
💜There is still several pieces of equipment & tack needed. I have found that it's best if we can pick these items out as there are several different options on the market but not all are the best quality or best choice for what we are doing.
💜Craft supplies for upcoming projects. Hobby Lobby, Home Depot gift cards will be a huge help for these. This is a really special project that I cannot wait to unveil when it is completed in the near future🎉
💜Gift certificates for Harrison Supply is ALWAYS a huge help as this is where we purchase Tucker Milling LLC. feed for our wonderful horses & other animal partners.
💜Prayers are ALWAYS welcome as so many of them have been heard.
💜 Canoe Creek Stables is also hosting a diaper drive starting TODAY. These diapers will be donated to St. Clair Co. Sav-A-Life, Inc. Anyone that brings a box of diapers this week will be entered in a drawing for a SPECIAL PRIZE. We will be taking up these diaper donations at Revana's Baby Shower At Canoe Creek Stables as well. Yall I want to receive so many boxes of diapers that we have to deliver them with our horse trailer😄 I challenge our community to help make this happen. If there are other new baby related items you wish to donate to these ladies you are welcome to bring them too. Let's see how many babies we can love on!!! If you'd like to drop off diapers etc here's the address 660 Oak Grove Rd Springville. (Chances are I will be working with a student so you are welcome to leave them at the gate and I will retrieve them.)

Well folks. The night before last I was praying with my daughter and I almost never pray for myself or directly for a specific need. I try and let the Lord provide His will because I rarely think we pray without our own agenda and what we want to happen. My wife often reminds me that maybe He wants to hear me say what my heart desires so that if it be His will He will show me that He answers prayers. At the end of the prayer with my daughter I asked that if it be the Lord's will that He provide us with a trailer that perfectly fits what I think His will is for our barn programs and what we will be doing for Him in the future. We have been looking for months and have found 1 that fit perfectly what we needed but it was already sold. Yesterday morning I woke up to the verse of the day being the exact verse that He put on my heart every time I hit a wall when building the barn and didnt know what to do next. Matthew 6:33 but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you. I got to work and was hiking/clearing a trail and prayed again that the Lord would give us a direction and peace about how to proceed with a trailer. A short while later Nicole messages me and says she has found our trailer. We both had a great peace about it and it is perfectly what we had missed out on a month ago but brand new with almost the same price. So now I'm heading on the literal "road to Damascus" (literally Damascus, Arkansas LOL).My request is that those that are following what we are doing be in prayer while I'm on this trip. Not just for safe travels but for guidance of how to best use this new asset for Canoe Creek Stables and Light of the World Adaptive Horsemanship. We have not been very vocal about our mobile plans as of yet but plan in the future to offer mobile petting zoos and birthday parties with ponies. As with the barn this will help to provide income for what the heart of the barn is. Our mission statement verse is Matthew 5:16. Let your light so shine before men so that when they see your good works it will glorify your Father In heaven. It was only fitting that we name the non profit Light of the World Adaptive Horsemanship. We hope to in the future bring our light to children's hospitals, VA hospitals, and nursing homes to share our love of Jesus and horses with others. Please pray that God will guide us and continue to strengthen us to perform His will.
