Life sure has a funny way of working out sometimes!

This time last year we were certain we were moving out of state. Life happened, plans changed- And now I find myself employed!

Opening my salon back up was always in the back of my mind but it doesn't make sense for my current situation. Happy to have found the happy medium with Cali Dream Grooming 🖤

Hello to all my wonderful and supportive friends, family, and clientele!

First thing’s first… We have decided to sell our home! Anyone who knows us knows how long we have been talking about this and we finally feel like the time is right. Having said that, with all the excitement that comes with starting new and moving on from your starter home, I need to make an announcement I have been hesitating on making.

Puptown Girl Grooming will be closing permanently when we receive an offer on our home. Since we are unsure on how long the selling process will take, and I am applying for new forms of employment- I will no longer be offering any appointments after the end of July, and will be reducing the number of dogs I groom per day to ensure our home stays in peak condition to be shown.

This has been such a wonderful WONDERFUL experience for me and the thought of putting down my scissors and taking a break is so strange and heartbreaking. I never thought I’d be in this position, but we are learning to live in the moment and go with the flow- and are ready to see where life takes us.

None of my success would have been possible without all of you. Every single one of you, even if you didn’t use my services for grooming. All the likes, shares, recommendations, and general encouragement really made Puptown Girl what it has become. I am forever grateful for all of you and will always remember you all.

As far as scheduling goes, I have checked with groomers nearby and have a few recommendations to hopefully accommodate everyone’s budget, preferences, and quality of care that you have come to expect with me. I recommend calling as soon as you can, before your pet needs to be groomed, to ensure you get a spot on the books with these new groomers before your sweet pup needs groomed to make sure nobody is matted and needs to be shaved down.

Sometimes, my own dogs get washed... much to their dismay! 😂

Thank you to everyone for your patience with scheduling and catching up from Covid and our vacation. For now I have decided to postpone taking new clients since it is looking like my soonest availability isn't until next month 😅

[I promise messages aren't getting ignored on purpose either, I have had a large influx and have often lost messages and conversations due to so many new people!] Thank you for supporting my small business and trusting me with your pups ☺️💚

Distemper is no joke! I have all my personal dogs updated on their vaccines and highly encourage my clients to make sure their let's are not only up to date on their Rabies vaccines (mandated per state law), but their Distemper, Parvo, and Bordetella (Kennel cough) vaccines to ensure your pet is as safe as possible during the holidays, especially if you're boarding them! ❤️

The Humane Society of Utah and Salt Lake County Animal Services are warning people of the canine distemper virus after a rising number of dogs tested positive. Distemper is extremely contagious, but the risk of catching it can be reduced if a dog is vaccinated.

Did you know?
Brushing out your double coated dogs, I recommend two tools:
A firm, long-pin slicker brush, and a good metal comb. If you can't get down to the skin easily and brush through the coat with your metal comb, go over with the slicker brush to remove bulk and detangle. A good comb is essential to preventing matting and ensuring your dog is fully brushed out.
Zuko was my model for you all, we had a show a couple weekends ago, so he was getting pampered ☺️
