Yes! We’re home! Tomorrow we will pick up the rest of the dogs and be settled. We live behind this small patch of untouched ground between all the burnt areas. So grateful to all these firefighters!

Evacuated Safely!
Thank you to all sheriff, firefighters, Volunteers and EMS for helping us all to safety!
I was home alone with my daughter Mercy and son Noah, our litter of 3 week old Newfoundland puppies and all our menagerie when we got the dreaded knock on the door. We had packed 3 days before so we were quick but with my van with the wheel chair lift in the shop, needed help evacuating him.
Thank you to several trailers and knowledgeable volunteers, we were able to get all the horses, donkey, goats, sheep and ALL our dogs out to safety.
God is so good! Landed at our dear friends with ALL out critters and crew and slept a couple hours before getting everyone pottied and farmed out to more precious critters to dear friends and now we’re settled in for who knows how long.
This fire is now a COMPLEX fire and huge! The fire crews are working HARD to keep our small neighborhood from burning. We will see how all this shakes out. So for now we’re thanking God for safety, friends that are incredibly amazing and giving and caring and seeing God answer our prayers and enjoying our beautiful puppies and friends. Beautiful friends!

It’s so very important for pups to learn from their mothers. Great mothers teach their kids until their lessons are learned.

Like acceptance of being handled, gentleness is taught to puppies. Puppies who have been taken away from their mothers too soon (before 10 weeks old) tend to be more nippy and to play more roughly. You will have to take over from wherever his mother left off and teach your puppy how to restrain himself, and what is OK to do when living with humans.
