As we welcome 2025, we want to take a moment to reflect on this past year. In 2024, we brought in 57 dogs—each one rescued from dire situations, whether they were dumped, faced euthanasia, or simply needed a soft place to land for a chance at a better life. Because of YOU—our amazing supporters—they all got that chance.

Your donations, shares, and love made it possible for every wagging tail, happy bark, and second chance. We are beyond grateful for this community that steps up for these dogs in need.

Holly is an adorable 5-month-old Chihuahua mix weighing just 10 lbs. 💕

Here’s what makes Holly so special:

We still have a couple of the Money Bags Boys looking for a perfect home! These guys are 10 weeks today! They will be ready to go 1/18(after their neuter) and will be 13 weeks old.

Mom was a JRT Chi mix, and dad is unknown but there were only small dogs in the home. These guys will likely not exceed 20lbs.

We do require you own your home and have a fenced in yard for them.

Before & After: Lilith’s Journey and why we are so grateful for the support of all of you!!!

In August 2020, Lilith came to Lucky K9 in desperate need of help. She had been hit by a car, leaving her with a complex tibial fracture and a pelvic fracture. She was also suffering from severe demodex mange, and her paw pads were painfully damaged—likely from walking on scorching hot asphalt.

Her road to recovery was long and challenging, but thanks to a very special foster family who opened their hearts and home, and the generosity of supporters like you, Lilith received the care, love, and patience she needed to heal.

Today, Lilith is thriving with her foster-turned-forever family, living a life full of joy, comfort, and unconditional love.

Lucky K9 has always been proud to focus on the underdog, Stories like Lilith’s are why we do what we do. Your kindness and support make these life-saving transformations possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of her journey to a beautiful new beginning.

Update on Elsa

Elsa and her siblings were abandoned at just 3 weeks old. Growing up, Elsa developed a shy personality and was slow to warm up to new people. For 9 months, we watched her struggle to get adopted—her fear often kept her from letting others see how sweet she truly was.

But her foster mom never gave up, knowing the perfect family was out there.

Elsa found her forever home with Nancy and Greg, who saw in her what we always believed—that she is the sweetest, most deserving girl. They adopted her without ever even getting the chance to pet her. They were patient and kind letting her come around at her own pace. Now, she’s living her best life, traveling to amazing places like the beach for Christmas and enjoying all the love she deserves.

Happy tails, Elsa! Thank you, Nancy and Greg, for giving her the life she’s always dreamed of. ❤️

Misha finding her forever home is truly the best holiday gift of all, and it’s all thanks to the incredible team at Friends of the Pet Adoption Center in St Charles!

Here’s Misha’s story: In 2016, she was adopted through Lucky K9 as a courtesy listing. At the time, we believed she had found her perfect home—but unfortunately, we were wrong. Last month, Misha was picked up as a stray and taken to PAC. When we reached out to her adoptive family, we were shocked to learn in 2019 they had abandoned her when they moved, leaving her to fend for herself as “a neighborhood cat.”

Thankfully, a kind person brought her to PAC, where her microchip traced her back to Lucky K9. While PAC reached out to us, finding a foster for a cat through a dog rescue is no easy task. But we stayed in touch with PAC, and yesterday, we got the amazing news: this sweet girl has found her true forever home!

We are so grateful to PAC and everyone who played a part in giving Misha the second chance she so deserved. Happy tails, sweet girl!

Meet Kabob, a 10-year-old Bluetick Coonhound with a heart as big as his hound voice. At 55 lbs, Kabob is the perfect example of a classic hound—lovable, goofy, and full of charm. While Kabob is heartworm positive, that just means he’s looking for a calm, loving sanctuary foster home where he can take it easy and heal.

🌟 What is a Sanctuary Foster?
It’s a lifelong home for the dog, but we’ll cover all of Kabob’s vetting and needs—so you can focus on giving him love and care.

🐶 Kabob’s Needs:
•A calm environment (no zoomies, please!)
•A foster who can transport him to his vet appointments in Florissant
•Someone who appreciates his hound personality and occasional serenades
