‼️Urgent foster request‼️
Carter, the handsome blue eyed pibble mix, needs foster. He is one of the newer dogs at the shelter but has quickly developed some intense kennel stress.
We suspect Carter spent most of his life before the shelter on a chain or in a kennel which has added to his anxiety in the shelter.
Carter is such a sweet and loving young dog who deserves a chance at a real life. He enjoys playing with other dogs but does require a meet and greet first to make sure he is compatible. He prefers his playmates to be more quiet and loves to run around in a yard with a friend.
Carter and Petra both would love a foster or adopter and are show cased below. They DO NOT go together but wanted to show off how cute they both are. We aren’t sure how they would do with cats but would do ok with older kids as they love food and would steal snacks from the little kiddos.
Both dogs are potty trained, and are young and fun pups who can’t wait to meet you.

Do you need a little chaos in your life?
Do you like dressing your dogs in cute outfits?
Do you have an over supply of time?
Ramona is just for you then! She is a special needs girl who is sure to entertain you daily and teach you to never let limitations keep you down.
After coming into the shelter underweight, neglected, limited mobility, with infections and with open wounds, Ramona has blown us away by her determination to make every day the best.
Her smile is contagious, she lights up when in a home and playing with other dogs and is quite a stinker when it comes to instigating others to play with her.
Ramona has spent the last several weeks attending water and physical therapy thanks to a generous donor. Her foster parents have put in so much work supporting Ramona to make progress in her mobility but she seems to think we are all just the silliest gooses and she is just fine to zip around with her front legs instead.
Ramona has very little issues getting around and proudly sports a baby pajama suit to help protect her toes from the ground. She gets on and off a couch with ease and will steal pillows to make her own bed. She loves toys and loves other dogs. She is respectful with cats and would love to have kids to play with too.
Ramona was spayed last week and will be visiting a neurologist soon to see if there is any other medical support we can offer her in means of mobility.
Ramona is technically ready for adoption but she is also desperate for a new foster or if by some miracle, rescue tag.
Ramona’s fosters were meant to be somewhat short term and she needs a new foster home or adopter very soon, by the end of February ideally,
Ramona does need assistance with going poop on a schedule to prevent accidents as that is her biggest struggle aside from her limited mobility but we assure you it is quite easy to stimulate.
We are asking our followers to share her story far and wide as her story and love is one larger than what our network re
🥶Snow Day Recap: City of St. Charles Shelter Dogs🥶
The shelter animals need cared for 365 days a year, and the snow didn’t stop some of our shelter dogs from having a blast!
Jawvis, featured in first photo, may be a tough looking bully breed, but he clearly wasn’t a fan and opted for quick potty break.
A few of the other dogs had an absolute blast bouncing around in the deep snow. It made us question if we should re-label some of them as snowshoe hares!
Stick around to the end for Marley, our longest dog resident, giving staff a run for their money when it was time to come in.
All of these dogs, and more, are available for adoption and can be found listed on Petfinder:

We want to give a huge thank you to the shelter staff, Brittany and Alex, who braved the ice and snow to make sure the animals had everything they needed and didn’t go without care and love. 🥰
🛞Rolling with Ramona Update 🛞
Ramona packed her bags, got her wheels on, and headed out the door last week to an amazing temporary medical foster.
Ramona has thrived so much already the past week by being out of the shelter. She was starting to decline mentally, physically and desperately needed out. Ramona has begun water therapy and as she progresses we will know more how many sessions she will need.
Her foster has experience with paralyzed and handicap dogs and has been truly amazing in elevating her care . Ramona has been fitted with a new wheelchair, children’s sleep suits to protect her feet and has fallen in love with home living again.
Ramona’s foster is only temporary and we are still seeking rescue and a forever foster or adopter.
Her foster home would require patience, medical experience, and dedication to Ramona’s ongoing to medical care. Ramona urinates by herself on potty breaks but needs assistance with defecating as she has some nerve issues still. She will have weekly water therapy and need transport to and from Ballwin, MO.
Please share, tag, and reach out with questions!
