When Eva arrived at the care of Paws Humane, their rescue team quickly found Eva had an old fracture in her elbow and was unable to use her affected leg. To relieve her pain she required amputation. The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation was able to provide a medical grant for Eva’s medical care and we are so happy to see she’s healed up well and continues to be her happy and loving self. 💛

Say hello to Matt, our dedicated Camp Counselor rocking with us since October 2023! His passion for ensuring dogs' well-being led him to join our pack, and he's been on a roll ever since. Matthew's happy place is the play yards, where he bonds with our furry guests and his amazing team. Outside Camp, he's a sports enthusiast, scoring goals on the field and strolling around the neighborhood with his dynamic duo, Maggie (the 3-year-old Lab/Hound mix) and Lucky (the 2-year-old black Lab/Pit Bull mix). Congrats, Matt!🐾

There *is* some truth to the belief that dogs are a good judge of character. Research has shown through their keen sense of smell and skilled read on human body language and cues, dogs will sometimes use that information to form an opinion of a person. A dog's sense of smell is 1000 times stronger than humans. These heightened senses allow dogs to smell the pheromones that evoke the human mood which also helps dogs pick up good and bad behaviors of a human.
