I handled/trained three K9's during my career which included Drug Odor Detection, Explosives Odor Detection, Criminal Apprehension, Building/Article/Area Searches and Tracking. I now work alongside Joey Romer with Smart Paws Obedience Training. The training includes conditioning through Stimulus, Response and Reward Theory (SRR). I will also provide problem solving. If your dog has a behavior that
needs to be fixed, I can find a solution for you. The great thing about dog training is the resources that are more than willing to help. If I don't know the answer, I can ask for assistance from the many trainers I had the opportunity to meet and train with. I have a passion for K9 Training and would love to show you what I have learned over the years. Your dog is capable of having the level of control/obedience that police K9's have. You just need to be taught how to train them. The story behind "Baron's Friends"
On October 7th of 2014, K9 Baron and I set out on a track to apprehend a felony suspect. Baron conducted an off lead area search and located the suspect. Upon contact, the suspect began fighting with Baron and managed to shove his face into the mud. Baron inhaled the mud and immediately died of asphyxiation. K9 Baron was only 2 1/2 years old and was just getting into his groove. He was the first K9 to be killed in the line of duty at my former agency. It was a heartbreaking experience that many of you heard about through various news outlets. I cherish the memories with him and will never forget what a sweet and loyal dog he was.
