This week our produce donation went to new partner , which empowers female identifying individuals to secure good paying jobs. They provide loads of awesome resources to members, like child care, healthy meals, wellness opportunities, and professional development. We’re so excited our hydroponic salads could join the line up!

Growing indoors isn’t all fun and games. Yesterday our drill press went out, but fortunately we have a staff mechanic in training!
Now that we’re back in action we wanted to wish you the happiest of Thanksgivings. So grateful for this stellar team and the opportunity to grow food and ag tech right here in STL.

Nutrient density is the name of the game, and fresh kale is one of the star players! We love growing this Curly Blue variety in the system, because it’s so easy, delicious, beautiful, and healthy.
Sometimes it takes folks a sec to warm up to the slightly bitter flavor, but we promise it’ll be worth your while! She’s chalk full of fiber, protein, omega-3s, and plenty of vitamins and minerals, so a little kale goes a long way!
And the fresher the crop, the more nutrition it contains... making locally grown kale way better for you and the planet.

Hey St. Louis, lettuce build you a giant 4-season farm! We’re actively seeking to expand our operation from 200 sq feet of leafy greens to 10,000 sq ft of vertical indoor grow space... and we need your help to do it. If you know of any grants, donors, or resources that could help us secure funds or a warehouse, we’d love to connect about it!
Our dream is to provide as much local produce as possible to the people of this city utilizing existing urban infrastructure. We’ve already developed the technology to make it happen, but we still need capital, labor, and the space itself.

This Summer we completed a lighting install of a 2000 sq ft space. And the results have been bangin!
The grower is able to run this entire set up with only a 1.2 ton AC unit thanks to our liquid-cooled system. And that keeps costs way down in the long run!

One of our partners recently toured our facility to see exactly where our weekly produce donations come from. They took some really cool pictures we wanted to share.

Plenty farms is an awesome startup based in San Francisco that grows plants indoors. It’s a company we look up to and are inspired by...
But we also always feel bad for that guy stuck between the lights and the crops! This was a issue we ran into ourselves when we built our system in the style of Plenty.
We’ve been able to dramatically improve on the design with the use of our liquid-cooled lights.
Swipe to see how our intern Jake is able to work the vertical system without knocking things over. We think that extra elbow room goes a long way! And the plants don’t mind either.

We built this system from the ground up. Lights, pipes, pumps, and all. 4 years, 3 warehouses, and so much RnD. It’s been awesome donating lbs of produce to charity every few weeks, but we’re hoping for more.
St. Louis Indoor Produce is entering the next phase, and we need you to grow with us. Only with more buildings, more partnerships, and more community participation will we be able to revolutionize the local food scene, create jobs, and feed our city.
