My name is Flan, and I'm a 5-year-old Pittie mix. I'm just as sweet as my name and maybe even as bouncy! 😋

Today is and we're celebrating with Shakira!! 🎉

We shared Shakira's story with you all when she was first available for adoption, and we can't believe that she hasn't found a forever home yet!

Shakira is a 2-year-old Pittie mix.

This sweet girl had a rough start to life. Back in March our Animal Cruelty Task Force received a call from a good Samaritan who witnessed a dog get hit by a car. One of our officers rushed to her and took her to an emergency clinic.

She made it through the night and was stable enough to join us here at HSMO.

Shakira was quickly loved by everyone here. She is an absolute sweethera twho has been through so much and she deserves to find a forever home that will love her endlessly.

After she waited in the shelter for a few months with no luck finding a family we had a foster step up to welcome her into their home. You'll never guess who it was...

Her rescuer!!

Shakira is in foster with our very own ACT officer who rescued her that night in March.

Now that she's in a home you can see that this girl is full of life and love! She is a true sweetheart and we know her forever home will be so lucky to have her.

Guthrie's sweet face is sure to melt your heart! 💕

This is Guthrie! He's a 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix, and he's ready to find a forever home to live out his golden years 💛

Guthrie came to us as a stray in July. As an older pup he was in need of some extra TLC.

He was shy when he arrived, but with our amazing team's patience (and some cheese 🧀) he quickly came out of his shell.

It only made sense for Guthrie to make his TV debut on KSDK News with another dapper gentleman, Rene Knott 🤩

Guthrie has spent some time in a foster home where he was around other dogs and even met a cat!
He is a pretty lowkey guy and would love to find a forever home where he can sit in your lap, and maybe even enjoy some cheese 😋 (seriously you guys he, LOVES cheese!)

String Bean is the epitome of a Shepherd, she loves to be with her people and can be a bit shy and nervous in new places.

"Let playtime begin!" -Dexter 🐾

This toy loving pup is Dexter! He's a a 1-year-old Pittie mix with the cutest brown brindle coat!

Dexter came to us as a stray in early July and has been with us ever since. 🥺

He's a young dog who loves to play and gets excited about new toys! 🎉

Dexter has been working with our behavior team and he is a smart pup. He would love to find a forever home that will continue taking him to obedience classes so he can show off his brains!

Legolas recently celebrated a year in his forever home! 🎉

Here's what his family had to share:

"Update from this little guy: my name is Legolas now, and I love cuddling with mom, playing with my bun brother hammy, and taking belly up naps. He works hard with Mom every day on her computer, but takes a very long nap in front of the windows watching the geese during his lunch hour. He was very shy when I brought him home but has turned into a big cuddler who will drool when you scratch his chin. He's a happy boy and I'm so glad I found him through you all. He is a great addition to the home and my life."
