Treats, toys, and blankets, oh my!! 💕

Last week a teacher from Oakville Middle School dropped off a bunch of donations! These donations were gathered thanks to the very generous and caring groups of students!

The National Junior Honor Society hosted this donation drive to help out the pets in our care 💖

Princess is a 1-year-old beautiful brindle pup!

As a young pup she does have a lot of energy, but she is also very snuggly! She loves to get out and explore the world and would enjoy someone who loves to play 🎉

Forever starts here! 💕

Davrin hit the jackpot of homes when his forever family walked through the door!!

Davrin came to HSMO in January when his family could no longer take care of him. He quickly became a favorite because of his long legs and goofy personality!

When his forever family met him they knew he was the one for them. Now his name is Homer and he is living the best life. 💖

Let's celebrate a recent Gotcha Day!! 🥳

Last year we had an adorable litter of Weimaraner puppies and they have all recently celebrated their first year in their forever homes!

Here's how Roy is doing:

"Roy has adjusted really well to his new home. He's come a long way since we got him at 13lbs and now weighs about 70lbs!

Roy enjoys playing with his friends at the dog park and going on walks around the neighborhood. He is everyone's best friend and is trying really hard to get our cat, Sky, to be his friend as well (she is less receptive 😅).

Tarzan prefers his bed to be filled with blankets and toys 😍

This handsome pup is 11-months-old and clearly loves to snuggle!! He's made to have a spot on your couch!

Tarzan is a Pittie mix who initially came to us as a stray. He did spend some time in a home where he lived with young kids. He was so excited to be around them, but his size was just a bit too much.

As a young dog he has a lot of energy and would love some older kids to play with!

He is also very smart and would excel in training classes!

Who could walk past this face 🥺

Cade has been waiting for his forever family as patiently as he can for more than 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ days...

Cade is a 2-year-old pup with lots of fun energy! He loves to play in the pen and show off his speed!

This sweet pup has bounced from home to home before he came to us. He deserves so much love and stability in his forever home and we just know that they're out there!

Gideon makes the most beautiful flower! 🌻

Gideon is celebrating with some snuggles on the couch with his favorite toy!

This handsome pup was rescued by our Animal Cruelty Task Force back in February.

He is a 9-month-old Husky mix with the sweetest personality! He's still learning how to be a dog, but we think he's doing a great job so far 💕

Today is Purrsday and we have a fun update on a recently adopted duo! 💞

Klaus and Violet came to our Best Buddy shelter back in February as strays. They were found on a busy street and a good Samaritan brought them to us!

When they were ready for adoption the perfect family found them and decided to keep them together!

These two are clearly attached and are glad to still have each other 💖

We've been granted custody! 🥰

Yesterday, April 22, a hearing took place for our April 3 rescue of 51 animals from a formerly licensed breeder in Cedar County.

The judge granted HSMO formal legal custody of the dogs, and now their journeys to happily ever after can officially begin!

Our amazing adoption center team will now begin processing these pups for adoption. Once they are officially ready we will make them available on our adoptable pets page: hsmo.org/adopt

Some of these pups still have a long road ahead of them and will continue to need our support.

You can drop off donations of bedding including blankets, sheets, and towels at our Macklind location.

Who doesn't love a frosted face? 😍

Our sweet girl Rouge is 7 years old, but you'd never know it aside from the grey on her face! She is gentle, loving and was SO excited to go on a field trip to KSDK News to hang out with Michelle Li this morning.

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week!! 🥳🐾

There is nothing better than celebrating the truly amazing people who share their time and talents with us here at HSMO!! 🎉

Our volunteers make a difference in the lives of pets and people every single day.
And as you can see in these photos they do it with love and light day in and day out.

From spending time with our feline friends, helping us keep our mountain of laundry tamed, creating enrichment toys for our pups, leading classes and fieldtrips for the next generation, to walking dogs 365 days a year in all types of weather... this team is truly the BEST!!!

Hoppy Easter Everyone! 🐰🐣

A few of our very lucky pups got to meet THE Easter Bunny when they visited Zoomies Pet Cafe STL last weekend for a pet friendly Easter Egg Hunt! 🐇

All of our pups had a blast, but Cinnabun was especially excited to meet the Bun himself! She couldn't stop smiling 😍

Both of our shelter locations will be closed to the public today so our amazing team can get home to enjoy the holiday!
