What can we do to make it policy that there’s a warning sign ⚠️ at all nurseries and other places plants 🪴 are sold? Let’s protect our pets! Let’s work together on this!

Here is another example of a deadly plant available at Lowes this weekend. This is a Sago Palm. Ingestion of ANY part of this by dogs or cats is toxic and often results in liver failure and death. The seeds are the most toxic part.

If you have pets, do NOT buy this plant. I really wish there was signage by these warning pet owners of their toxicity.

We have feral cat shelters available at the APA. One shelter is sufficient for up to 3 cats, and when stuffed with straw, they are a great way to keep the community cats in your neighborhood nice and toasty as the weather gets chilly. Thanks to our friends St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach for making these awesome shelters and for all that they do to help the feral cats in the St. Louis area.
