We are so happy with how all of the Fairytale puppies (Icarus x Lily). From updates they are doing phenomenal in nosework, rally, conformation, service dog work, and training in dock, agility, and so much more! We really value versatility in our program and we are over the moon at how well these puppies are doing. We adore their temperaments, drive, and work ethic too; all elements that go towards a well rounded, versatile dog.

Sága is a happy-go-lucky confident clown just like her father, neutral to friendly to strangers and when they pull out a toy she is all business. We love how she has been maturing, now at 8 months she has begun to look like a real dog. ❤️ We are so excited about her future!

Running from Monday like… 💙🚀Rocket🚀💙

We went on a little hike this past weekend to catch some much-needed sun rays after being holed up at home for about a week. We met up with a few friends who needed some fresh air and time with dogs. The trails were empty, so we let our dogs get a little respectful off-leash time to run and burn off some energy. Rocket had a great time getting some sniffs in and socializing with his dog friends Truth and Fortune!

Gaia got her CERF completed yesterday thanks to the St Louis Animal Eye Associates!

OFA orthopedics (ie hips, elbows, spine, etc) that are submitted through OFA for grading go through evaluation with multiple orthopedic specialists and can take time to process. Contrary to that, the OFA eye testing known as a CERF is able to be officially evaluated at the ophthalmologist appointment. So we know Gaia has “textbook, perfect eyes”, per the ophthalmologist, before we mail off her results to OFA!

This will finish Gaia’s CHIC certification with all Excellent/Normal testing! For those that are not familiar with the Health Testing process a CHIC refers to the “Canine Health Information Center”). This is the recognition that a dog has *completed* the recommended protocol for breed-specific health screenings through OFA. Now, just because a dog receives their CHIC does NOT mean they have passing results just that they have completed all the recommended testing.

Always remember that OFA, or the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, is a public database that only requires part of a dog’s registered name to pull submitted health records! Reputable, responsible purebred breeders will utilize this database to keep record of their breeding dogs. Health testing does not guarantee the health of their puppies but it does help make informed decisions for breeders and people interested in adding a puppy to their home.

We are ecstatic to have all of Gaia’s necessary testing done with flying colors before we welcome her first litter in 2025.

Hello 2025!

Here at Mythic Mudi we had quite the year. Some of the highlights:

🎉 We brought our first litter of 8 beautiful puppies into this world.
🎉 All the puppies are thriving in their homes starting careers herding, disc, nosework, dock diving, agility, and more!
🎉 Rocket finishing his AKC Championship at the MCA National Breed Specialty.
🎉 Finishing the 2024 UKC Year with 4 of the Top 10 Mudis (Gaia #3, Rocket #6, Khaos #7, Sango #8).
🎉 Khaos sitting in the top 3 for all time record scores in Skyhoundz Spot Landing.
🎉 Khaos, Icarus, Kioti, and Rocket all qualifying and attending the Skyhoundz World Championship!

Last month Rocket completed his DDB (Disc Dog Bronze) title through UpDog Challenge! We are so proud of Rocket!

If you are looking to get into disc with dogs I highly recommend looking into UpDog, it is very beginner friendly and a partner with the AKC! Their mission revolves around lowering the barriers of entry into this amazing, fun dog sport.

📰 Hot off the presses! 🗞️

Calcifer (Mythic’s Fireheart) earned 2 legs towards his AKC Rally Novice title with two 4th place finishes! Cal was the youngest dog there by far at only 8 months old and even managed to beat one of his older Malinois brothers! We have a feeling he will be bragging about that for awhile 🤣

We are so excited to share that Sango at 8 months with limited showing is the first of the Fairytales to earn a conformation Champion through UKC! With this accomplishment Sango is also the first puppy we have produced to earn a conformation championship. We are so proud and thank the judges who saw our little Sango in line ups.

Khaos also had a blast in the ring last weekend in Columbus, OH! Going Winners Dog twice for 1 and two points respectively and going Best of Breed Owner Handled on Thursday. We just adore how this boy is turning out, he has work ethic, type, drive, and structure for days.

We had so much fun last weekend playing in the show ring in Columbus, OH! We had so much fun hanging out with show friends, old and new!

On Saturday Gaia went Winner B*tch, Best of Winners, Best Opposite S*x, and Best of Breed Owner Handler over Specials! This win gave Gaia her first Major and 4 points towards her Championship. Gaia now just needs 1 point and 1 major to finish!

Sága at 8 weeks and at 7 months. 🖤 We have more maturing to do but we like where we are trending. 📈

This weekend we are hoping Sága will be attending her first big girl show! That is if the weather permits, there has been lots of flooding and rain in Missouri doing considerable damage to the state. As always our goal is to make sure Sága has a wonderful time.

Mythic’s Fireheart - “Calcifer”

Calcifer and his owner Anna had a wonderful time playing in the UKC ring for the first time last Saturday! Calcifer is Anna’s first conformation dog and together they went 2/2 on Best of Breed wins over competition! We are so proud of these two and are so excited for their future.

When he isn’t being a pretty boy Calcifer enjoys wrestling with his two Malinois brothers, swimming, and nosework. He has such a wonderful temperament and is adored by everyone who has met him.

Calcifer is co-owned with Mythic together

Tulin is out of our Icarus x Lily pairing, and he is doing fantastic with his handler as a SDIT, trick, sport and show dog. I can’t say enough good things about this pairing and how solid in temperament they all are, and how perfect the homes they are in have been with them ❤️ Go little rockstar!
