Judy's Forgotten Jewells

Judy's Forgotten Jewells We rescue animals in danger of euthanasia and place them into forever loving homes. We are based out of Jewell Animal Hospital, and founded by Patricia L.

Judy’s Forgotten Jewells became a licensed Non-Profit Animal Rescue Group in the summer of 2009! Smith, DVM. The name Judy’s Forgotten Jewells is in honor of Dr. Smith’s mother’s childhood dog “Judy Dog” and Jewell Animal Hospital. Since starting rescue work in 2006 Judy’s Forgotten Jewells has placed over 500 Dogs, Cats, Puppies, & Kittens in forever loving homes! Most of our animals come from sh

elters where they were at risk of being euthanized! We are run solely on volunteers and clinic staff! Our adoption fee helps cover a fraction of the cost to spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip implantation & activation, medical treatment, and any food used to feed the animal! We are a NO KILL rescue, so once an animal is adopted that opens up a space for us to bring in a new at risk animal! We are very passionate about our rescues and strongly encourage all pet owners to spay or neuter their pets to help end the cycle of pet overpopulation!

Meet Winston!

Winston is a s***ky miniature poodle mix who was found as a stray. He was initially nervous towards the good samaritans that rescued him in rural Missouri, but was quick to warm up once he was brought to us and realized he was safe. He is estimated to be about 6 years old and is 12lbs.

Since being with us, he has been groomed, neutered, had an oral procedure to clean his teeth, and given lots of love from the staff. He does well on a leash outside for potty breaks and keeps his kennel clean throughout the day. He has met a couple of dogs that are larger than him, and he really liked playing with them!

We think that Winston would love a home where he can be a lap dog and maybe play with some toys!

If you'd like to meet this handsome little dude, we have walk-in hours from 10-3 today and appointments available every day this week.

It's ❤FOSTER FRIDAY❤!!

Today's foster spotlight is Rocky!! Rocky came to us in June with his two siblings as a
3-month-old pup. He is a sweet, playful, and well-mannered boy who needs a patient foster family to help him build some confidence in new settings! He can be a little shy to warm up, but once he does he will be your best friend. Rocky plays well with other dogs and would do well with or without foster siblings. He loves toys, treats, and walks!

If you are interested in fostering, or adopting, Rocky please email us at: [email protected]

Sir Didymus is still looking for a home where he can be spoiled with attention and toys!

This beautiful tabby boy is as sweet and lovey as they come. He has a goofy personality and is content cuddling in your lap, or playing with toys all day. If you want a boy cat who is obsessed with you, this is your guy!

We need your help with sweet and shy gals, Chicken and Biscuit!

Back in December, we took on 9 parvo positive Husky mix puppies and, with excellent medical care and commitment from our staff, were able to save all of them! We also offered to vaccinate and spay both of the unaltered females on the property to make sure that no unwanted litters would happen there again.

Last Thursday, Chicken and Biscuit came in for their appointments, and the owners asked us if they could just surrender them to us instead. We didn't really have space or funds available but didn't want to send them back to a place where they weren't wanted so we agreed to have them join Judy's furry family!

They are both under 25 pounds so we've been calling them "miniature Huskies" because their mother was a husky and their father was unknown. They are approximately 2 years old. We're still getting to know them so they aren't available for adoption yet but will be soon.

You can donate money on our website: https://judysforgottenjewells.com/donate-1
You can donate supplies (dog food please!) through our Amazon wishlist: https://a.co/eUDfWqO

Please consider making a donation to help us care for these unexpected guests! Chicken and Biscuit would be forever grateful!

Happy ✨Foster Friday✨ everyone!!

Today's spotlight pup is Kai! Kai is 5 years old and has been with us since June when his owners surrendered him because they were moving and could not take poor Kai along. Kai is a sweet soul and is such a perfect boy! He keeps his kennel clean, is very quiet, is well-mannered, loves to carry toys in his mouth, and enjoys cuddling on the couch for lots of belly scratches!

For Kai, we are looking for a "unicorn" foster that does not have any animals in the home. Kai can be dog-reactive during stressful events such as storms but has never caused actual harm to another animal. He also has a prey drive and likes to attempt to chase squirrels while on walks. Despite these two things, he really is the SWEETEST boy!!

If you think that you may be the right fit for Kai as a foster, or are interested in adopting, please reach out at: [email protected]

Miss Daphne was able to get out of the shelter for a week and see what it is like to live in a home! The family that she was with said that she is a sweet, goofy, and loving girl and they were very sad to have to bring her back.

Daphne has been with us since June when she came in as a 3-month-old puppy! Since then we have grown to love her silly and sweet personality, as well as her huge comical ears and long legs! This girl is full of s***k and loves other dogs as well as the people she gets to know.

She is available for foster or adoption!

Happy Foster Friday everyone!

Every Friday we will be highlighting one of our animals that are eligible for our foster program with the hopes of finding them a temporary home while they wait for their forever family.

Today we would like to introduce Grimm! Last week a client of Jewell Animal Hospital brought him in to see if he had a microchip after finding him in the bitter cold with all the snow. We quickly got a heating mat on him as the poor guy was shivering! He did not have a chip and is now available for foster or adoption. He is still a baby and we estimate he is about 6 months old. Grimm is a very sweet and vocal boy who wants lots of attention and love. The shelter has been a little stressful for him, and we are really hoping to get him into a home quickly.

If you would like to sign up to be a foster, please check out our website:
