Judy's Forgotten Jewells

Judy's Forgotten Jewells We rescue animals in danger of euthanasia and place them into forever loving homes. We are based out of Jewell Animal Hospital, and founded by Patricia L.

Judy’s Forgotten Jewells became a licensed Non-Profit Animal Rescue Group in the summer of 2009! Smith, DVM. The name Judy’s Forgotten Jewells is in honor of Dr. Smith’s mother’s childhood dog “Judy Dog” and Jewell Animal Hospital. Since starting rescue work in 2006 Judy’s Forgotten Jewells has placed over 500 Dogs, Cats, Puppies, & Kittens in forever loving homes! Most of our animals come from sh

elters where they were at risk of being euthanized! We are run solely on volunteers and clinic staff! Our adoption fee helps cover a fraction of the cost to spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip implantation & activation, medical treatment, and any food used to feed the animal! We are a NO KILL rescue, so once an animal is adopted that opens up a space for us to bring in a new at risk animal! We are very passionate about our rescues and strongly encourage all pet owners to spay or neuter their pets to help end the cycle of pet overpopulation!

✨Happy Foster Friday✨

Today's highlight is Ollie! Ollie is a 9-month-old pittie mix that has been with us since August. He adores people, toys, and playtime! We would love this boy to get some time in a foster home to see what home life is like and set him up for success once he is adopted.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Ollie, please email us at: [email protected]

Shamrock, Seamus, and Guiness are still looking for their forever homes!

These perfect babies would love an active family with some siblings (human or pup!) to get all their energy out with! When they aren't chasing each other in circles, they love to cuddle and be held while they take their puppy naps ❤

Puppy and kitten season is in full swing here at Judy's Forgotten Jewells!

We have several babies, as well as a couple of beautiful mommas that have been brought to us in the past month with varying medical issues. As much as we love this time of year and getting to see all of those adorable and innocent faces, it also highlights the growing issue that we are facing with animal populations.

If you would like to help us be able to take in more moms and babies in need, here are the things that we are needing the most:
💙 Supplies from our Amazon wishlist, linked in the comments
💙Fosters for adult dogs to open up more space for incoming animals
💙Public outreach! Please like, share, and spread the word about our shelter as we continue to grow!

Sending out an SOS for these crusty kiddos!! Meet Sourdough, Brioche, Rye, Challah, and Pumpernickel!

Today, we welcomed them from Poplar Bluff Animal Control because they were needing some TLC due to extensive hair loss and bloody, itchy skin, which we quickly learned was sarcoptic mange (scabies) after performing a diagnostic skin scrape! The smallest little girl has been so itchy that it appears she scratched her face so hard that it caused an ulcer on her eye 🥺

Our team quickly jumped into action to get these super sweet pups examined, vaccinated, medicated, and bathed! They chowed down on some delicious food and are now relaxing in a comfy kennel, dreaming of itch-free days ahead.

Treatment for scabies is not cheap, so we are asking for your help! Please consider making a donation through our website (https://judysforgottenjewells.com/donate-1) or Venmo (). Every little bit helps!

And we will be sure to keep everyone updated on these darling doggos as they feel better, grow their fur back, and become available for adoption!

✨Happy Foster Friday!! ✨

Today's foster highlight is LaRoyce!

Laroyce is a 15 year old sweet senior boy who was originally adopted from Judy's in 2010. In September of 2024, we received a call from the Humane Society that his owners had surrendered him because they could no longer afford his medical care. We immediately went and picked him up and brought him back to our facility.

Since being in our care, LaRoyce has received the medical care he needed, which involved an oral procedure and a thyroidectomy. He is loving and enjoys napping most of the day. We think he would make a very easy and laid back addition to any home. We would love to find a foster for LaRoyce where he can relax during his senior years until he is adopted!

Rocky was able to enjoy some time out of the shelter over the weekend! He did very well and even made a new friend ❤

Rocky is a very sweet and well-mannered boy, but he does require some time to open up. Due to this, he does not always make the best impression during appointments. We are so happy that he was able to go into a home environment so that people can see how loving he becomes once he is comfortable! This perfect boy just needs a patient family to adopt him.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Rocky, please email us at: [email protected]

On Sunday 2/16 we took in a pregnant momma cat, Raven, and sent her to a foster home where she could have her babies in a quiet and safe environment.

We are happy to announce that over the weekend she gave birth to two beautiful and healthy babies! They are all doing well and will take this time to be together until the kittens are weaned. Raven will then be spayed and available for adoption.

It is kitten and puppy season and we are hoping to be able to take in some more mothers in need this spring. Please consider donating to help us be able to care for cases like Raven!

Donner is the lone puppy remaining from his litter! He is 4.5 months old and a small Husky mix. His mom is 25 pounds so we imagine he will be around 35 pounds. He is very sweet but a little shy with new people. He is looking for his forever family!

We are open from 10-3 today for walk-in adoption hours if you'd like to meet Donner.
