Arya is now up for adoption through CARE STL!
This sweet girl has been fully rehabilitated and is ready for her forever home! She has a high prey drive which means she shouldn't live with cats. She is dog selective but can learn to love any dog given time and patience. She would most likely do best as an only dog at first, but could love a puppy brother or sister down the road. She loves to give kisses and is ready to be your valentine! Like, comment, and Share her pictures far and wide to get her as much exposure as possible!
I'm on the mend, but breathing is still hard sometimes, which makes walking and playing games like tug kinda hard. So today Tim is practicing a reverse kind of fetch, which also incorporates the sit and stay commands as well as the release. Your dogs are smart, and we don't have to play the same way everyday. Feel free to challenge your pet and change up the game if you are feeling sick or worn down, you don't always have to expend all the energy in the world to still be able to engage with your dog.
Bowie is so excited to learn new things and make new friends!!!!
Jax is practicing his puppy pushups! Doing this helps to get the dogs to understand what sit actually means, and that it's more than just your butt touching the ground, sometimes you have to push yourself up! This can be a tricky thing for pups to master, but Jax is doing great!
No matter the weather we're always having fun! Tim Curry and Jax are becoming fast friends!!! Weighing a good 50lbs more than Jax, Tim loves playing with his smaller dog friends and adjusts his play style accordingly.
I did a training session with Jaime Nicole and her dog Faust the other day. We worked on loose leash walking.
In this video you can see Jaime walking her dog and rewarding him for staying by her side and giving her eye contact.
You will also notice, it isn't me, the trainer doing the work. My job as the trainer isn't to train the dog. My job is to facilitate a method of communication that allows you to communicate with your dog, to teach you how to train your dog. These are skills that will stay with you for life, and will help your future k9 companions as well.
Jaime contacted me wanting help with his loose leash walking, as Faust was always a puller, but look how good he's doing now!
So proud of this smart dog and his talented owner.
