St. Louis Veterinary Center

St. Louis Veterinary Center Located in the heart of South City, St. Louis Veterinary Center provides for all of your pet’s needs. So, here we are!

Our Story

Dr. Philip started his journey that led him to his own clinic by helping with shelters in the area, both in the city and in the county, and working with the animal protective association of Missouri. He worked with many rescue groups and piloted his own spay/neuter project. While working with all these shelters, he noticed that there was not a veterinarian located on Grand, which was a busy area that many pet owners lived in. He opened at the very end of 1991/beginning of 1992.

Welcome, Dr. Micotto!
We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our veterinary team, Dr. Micotto! Born and raised right here in St. Louis, she’s excited to be back home caring for local pets and families.
Dr. Micotto earned her DVM from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine (Class of 2021). She has special interests in nutrition and integrative medicine, and brings valuable experience from her time in emergency medicine—as well as a soft spot for pocket pets!
When she’s not in the clinic, you can find her outdoors, playing ultimate frisbee, or spending time with her family and her three beloved pets: Leia and Rey (cats) and Po (her pup).
Join us in giving Dr. Micotto a warm St. Louis welcome! 💜🐾

First day on the job and he’s already supervising from the front desk 😹 Meet Loki, our new clinic cat! We think he’s taking the ‘customer service’ role very seriously… from his nap station.

We feel you, buddy… that post–daylight savings Monday hits hard. 😴
If your pet’s schedule is a little off too, don’t worry, they’ll adjust just like we do. Maybe with a few extra naps in the meantime.

🐾 Ziggy was such a good boy for his exam and vaccines today! 💉✨ He even showed off his colorful sweater to keep things festive. Regular checkups and vaccines are an important part of keeping your pets healthy all year, and Ziggy made it look easy! 💙

Give your pets a little extra love (and maybe a treat or two) after their visits. They earn it every time. 🐶💛

🐾 Meet Charlie! 🐾 This sweet senior cat stopped by for a quick visit so we could collect a urine sample for his annual lab work. Routine wellness checks like these are an important part of keeping our older pets healthy and comfortable as they age. 💙

With National Cat Day and National Senior Pet Month both being celebrated, we couldn’t think of a better time to spotlight one of our favorite feline friends! 🐱 Charlie may have a little extra wisdom in his whiskers these days, but he’s still as charming as ever.

Meet Lumi! 🐰✨
This adorable bunny visited St. Louis Veterinary Center for her exam and an E. cuniculi test.

E. cuniculi (short for Encephalitozoon cuniculi) is a microscopic parasite that can affect a rabbit’s kidneys, nervous system, and eyes. Many rabbits can carry it without showing symptoms, but regular testing helps us catch it early and keep them healthy.

Wellness exams and proactive screening are key to keeping rabbits like Lumi feeling their best! 💚

🐾 Marley’s Spa Day (Sort Of 😅)

Nail trims aren’t Marley’s favorite, so our team used calming medication, plenty of cheese, and lots of positive affirmations to help make his visit a more comfortable experience. 💛

Every pet deserves a stress-free visit, and we’re proud to take the time and care to make that happen, one cheesy treat at a time! 🧀✨

🎉 Tech Week Celebration! 🎉

We closed down for lunch on Friday to celebrate our amazing veterinary technicians! 💙 The team enjoyed a well-deserved break with Hocus Pocus, Pasta House lunch, candy popcorn, soda, cookies, and ice cream. All the spoils! 🍝🍪🍦

Our team works tirelessly behind the scenes daily to keep our patients healthy and happy, and we’re so grateful for everything they do. 🐾💪

🦷✨ Tackling Tartar Early Makes All the Difference!

Check out this before-and-after from one of our recent dental cleanings! Regular dental care doesn’t just keep your pet’s smile bright, but it also helps prevent painful gum disease, infections, and even heart or kidney issues that can result from untreated plaque buildup.

Early action = easier cleanings and a healthier mouth. If your pet’s breath is a little “ruff,” or you’re noticing yellow or brown buildup, it might be time for a dental check-up!

📅 Call us today to schedule your pet’s dental cleaning and keep that smile sparkling!
