After a leg amputation, one of the main goals of rehabilitation is to keep the remaining limb moving freely. It might not look strenuous, but lying on your stomach is an important part of recovery. It helps strengthen core muscles, getting our patients ready for a prosthetic limb.

Duo Dog Kia works right alongside our patient, helping remind her to lie on her stomach just like him. This simple stretch helps loosen the hips, builds core strength and improves movement.

Duo Dog Mo from the Missouri Rivers Litter will open more than doors to a sporting goods store one day. Thanks to socialization from his Volunteer Puppy Raisers and assessments from our Assistance Dog Trainers, he may open the door to independence for someone living with a disability, or a child needing strength before giving a deposition.

Same stuffie, different dog. Did you know that 41% of our current Volunteer Puppy Raisers are repeat raisers? Some have opened their hearts and homes to as many as 8 dogs from Duo!

Each puppy they raise carries a piece of their heart, growing into a dog that will change someone’s life—no matter their career path. Their dedication, love, and countless hours of training make all the difference.

To all our repeat raisers: Thank you for your unwavering commitment! To our new raisers: it may not be easy, but it's worth it!

Our Duo Touch Therapy teams had an amazing time visiting Armanino employees for a special community event! With five of our incredible therapy teams on-site, there were plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and stress-relieving snuggles to go around. A huge thank you to Armamino for welcoming us and embracing the power of canine comfort. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do!

We’re excited to welcome Beth Biondo (Chief Operating Officer), Crissy Smith (Chief Canine Officer), and Tracy Gellman Liebe (Chief Program Officer)—back from the ADI - Assistance Dogs International Conference in Orlando earlier this month! Duo has been ADI-accredited since 2007, a distinction held by only three agencies in Missouri and just 154 worldwide. This accreditation ensures we uphold the highest standards in training and placing Assistance Dogs. We’re thrilled to bring new insights and best practices from the conference back to our Duo community!
