Phoebe is just about done with her eight week in home program and is doing phenomenally. Her owners were able to fix her pottying issue mostly but also are now able to take her just about anywhere. One of the cutest dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. See ya next week phoebe!

BD is about halfway through with his training program and I must say he’s been very impressive. BD started with a lot of impulse control issues, excessive nipping and jumping during play, biting the leash and pulling on walks. Average puppy type behaviors. Recently we decided to take him on a trip to Home Depot and he did very well greeting people and was a joy to bring along. The goal of most people who are training their pets to be well behaved is to incorporate them more within their lifestyle (where dogs are allowed) and this provides and this can provide a more balanced mental state. If you’re consistently supplying opportunities for your dog, they’ll be deterred from looking for them elsewhere!

Sage the Aussie and Molly the wired terrier are almost finished with their training programs. Sage has come a long way with her dog reactivity and Molly has learned that she’s capable of not being crazy all the time

Dougie Fresh is a German shepherd mix who’s a little over halfway through his training program and has been absolute crushing it largely in part due to his owners diligence and commitment. There can’t be any well trained dogs without well trained owners and this combo fits the bill. Dougie started training with almost no behavioral issues but along with training we can teach him how to appropriately interact with society and how to make the best decisions

Sydney and Scooby are just about finished with their training. It’s really been a joy working with these two with an owner that’s highly motivated to create a highly functional relationship with them. Sydney is on her way to being a therapy dog, so happy for these two

Big boy Cooper is a now five month old pomsky who’s approaching is fifth week of training and this little one is crushing it. I’ve been impressed by him and his owners commitment to the relationship building process we call training. I’m excited to see where these two will be a month from now. Coopers favorite part of training is when he gets to play and nap afterwards

Goofy boy Archie has almost finished his training. It’s always a pleasure training these Velcro dog breeds. Poor guy never wanted to leave my side. It’s important to teach dogs like Archie independence and instill confidence

Teddy and Cocoa just finished up there training and are all ready to leave the big city. It’s been a pleasure working with these two. Teddy being stubborn as a bull and cocoa being lazy as a sloth. Both were great students that I’m going to miss!

In shock that I’d forgotten to post Skye. She’s the best Samoyed around. Skye needed some help with focusing on tasks given to her by her mom. Now she’s able to walk nicely next to her and knows when to leave senior sibling alone. Skye favorite activity is laying down and also pretending to have no idea what’s going on 😂

I’d like to thank the for having me invited to their pack walk. It was a blast. This cute boy name is frost, he’s a two year pit bull mix who’s deaf. It was a pleasure taking this boy out on the town. He’s a really sweet dog, that’ll do great in any future home. I’ll be back big boy!

Koda is almost done with his program. This big boy has come very far with training. We started training relatively young for this soon to be large boy. It’s very important that we start training early when we adopt big working breed dogs to instill discipline and structure. Now if only we can get him to be less jealous of his brother Bree’s

Ladies and gents meet Sasha, the German shepherd malinois mix who’s halfway in between her training. This is a difficult situation, Sasha unfortunately bit her older sibling in the yard and tragically skeeter passed away.
I say that because it’s important that we are honest about a dogs trials and tribulations, only when we are honest can we get to the root of that tragedy and reverse course so that it doesn’t happen again.
Since she’s started training Sasha has been an angel to her two other siblings. She’s been one of my favorite dogs, seeing her progression. Hats off to her owners that have blown any expectations I had out of the water. Love you Sasha!

I’ve now decided to start posting my pups a few weeks into their training to give an apt description of their progress with their respective family. Meet gumbo, the labradoodle rescue. Gumbo came to me, struggling with how to greet people politely and issues with boundaries in general.
Gumbo is a beyond happy dog, which is why with doggos as happy as him it’s hard for owners to see a reasoning to training but sometimes that happy go lucky personality goes a bit to far, specifically when you’re running out the door and down the street to say hi to other dogs.
Gumbo is in his last few weeks of training and I’m so grateful to have helped him on this journey. I’d like to give a special shout-out to his mom for really putting in the time and effort even with all the other immense responsibilities. These are the owners that make what I do, truly worth it!

Mr. Bugsy is going to be hanging out with me for a couple weeks, that way he can learn better ways to interact with other doggos

Toby and Freddy just started their journey into becoming well trained dogs and even more importantly well behaved dogs. Two beautiful puppies, if you can’t tell by the picture Freddy is the sassy one😂

Mr Rabbit has recently started his journey into building a great relationship with his parents. Honestly, one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. His favorite thing to do is have a stare down with his cat friend

This big girl was founding wandering and starving in Houston. Once she was healthy enough to start training, she came to me. Sadie and her mom just went through a crash course of obedience all over the course of a week. This girl and her mom did exceptional. I’d like to give her a shoutout for being incredibly committed to the process and we were able to help Sadie on her journey to be a great dog. Miss you Sadie, can’t wait until you’re back in town to visit😭

Luna just completed her program but that doesn’t mean we are done working. She’s really good puppy and with the help of her mom, she has been able to experience more of what the world has to offer. She’s still too smart for her own good, but that’s what you get with these blue heelers 😂
08/04/2021
This big boy has recently started his training with his mommy who rescued him from being euthanized. He’s such a sweet boy and incredibly intelligent. Those shepherd husky’s will give you a run for your money 😂

There are a few key things to look for to determine if two dogs are playing safely: Loose and relaxed body language: When dogs are playing safely, they will have loose and relaxed body language. Their tails will be wagging, their bodies will be wiggly, and their ears will be in a neutral position. Mutual play: When dogs are playing safely, their play will be mutual. This means that both dogs will be taking turns being the chaser and the chased, and both dogs will be equally engaged in the play. Playful vocalizations: Dogs that are playing safely will make playful vocalizations, such as barks and growls, but these vocalizations will not be aggressive or intense. They will be high-pitched and playful in nature. No biting or growling: While play-biting is a normal part of dog play, it should not be aggressive or cause injury. Dogs that are playing safely will not be growling or biting aggressively, and if one dog does accidentally bite too hard, they will quickly release and often take a break from play. Breaks in play: Even when two dogs are playing safely, they will take breaks from play periodically. During these breaks, the dogs will disengage from each other and may take a moment to catch their breath or drink some water. These breaks are normal and help keep play safe and enjoyable for both dogs. It’s important to supervise dog play and interrupt play if it becomes too rough or aggressive. If you have any concerns about your dog’s behavior or the behavior of other dogs they are playing with, schedule a consultation! #dogtraining #saintlouis #husky #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescueismyfavoritebreed #playtime #offleash #mixedbreed #bestfriends
