March wants to show everyone how calm he is in his crate. Can someone come take him home so he doesn't have to live in a crate in an overcrowded shelter?
Fish n chips is really suffering at the shelter... he lives in this state of anxiety all day every day. All the bubbles on the wall are from him licking and slobbering all over (licking is a way for them to try to self soothe). Let's please get him out today 🙏
Time to meet Suter! A 2-year-old, 60 lbs. boy. He was found as a stray and just like so many new pups that come to the shelter, he is very scared to even walk out of his kennel. Please, if you have extra space, please help Suter today!
This girl just came in. What should we name her?
We're excited to share some wonderful news about Nascar! 🥰 He is set to leave on Thursday to embrace a new life at a sanctuary that truly embodies his name. It feels like destiny! ❤️ Thank you so much for your incredible support and generous donations towards his sanctuary fund. Together, we've made this beautiful opportunity possible, and we can't wait to see the amazing journey that lies ahead for him! ❤️
Our last Chewsday pair is Apshara and Stan the Man
Apshara says-
I am convinced stan has some herding breed in him because of certian mannerisms he has, and it would make sense because he is high strung, smart, and a little nervous sometimes (and his little nub tail!). He is go-go-go the whole walk, no matter how long you walk for, so I’ve been trying to wear his brain out and help him actually relax. He LOVES stuffies and yard zoomies, and if I catch him before he’s fed dinner I try to put his dinner in the kong wobbler or make a little snuffle mat out of a blanket, and he really loves working for it. He has also started to become really affectionate with me and happy to see me. He is really a good boy, just so stressed, and would love to get out of the shelter!
Out next Chewsday pair is Apshara and Pink Lady (who is part of our Life Saver Initiative)
Apshara says-
when i think about how much i love PL i actually think my heart might explode. this feisty, tiny, cheese loving, adventurous, funny little rat has my entire heart. she loves zoomies in the yard and snuggling in her kennel, and the little diva only likes high value treats. i have been taking her through the adoption lobby to get her used to it and she has been doing so well, and has met quite a few adoption staff by now. She has her quirks but there are so many amazing things about her and I know her right home is out there somewhere. and if you would ever like to help her practice meeting people just let us know!!
Don Juan is not feeling well 😔 When you visit the shelter please ask to meet him ❤️🙏
Who’s got frosty whiskers and toes and loves to play in the snows?…it’s MAHOGANY! ☃️🐾😍 Come meet him at CARE STL today! He’s such a catch 🥰 #snowday #adoptme
Jack Be Little Pumpkin 🎃 💜
He keeps getting looked over because he's shy and doesn't run up to people and get all kisses face and wiggling 😢 It just takes him a day or two to warm up and feel safe enough to let his guard down and his personality shine. He's been available for almost 3 months and no one has been willing to give him that chance. He is such a sweetheart baby and the kind of dog that will follow you everywhere and look at you like you're his whole world. He is currently in a foster home but is ready to find his forever family. Will you give him a chance?
Thin Crust Pizza is a 3-year-old Coonhound mix who came to us with her six puppies after being abandoned. While her pups have all found homes, she’s still waiting for her second chance. The stress of kennel life has been tough on her, and she urgently needs a foster or forever home to feel safe and loved.
Despite everything, Thin Crust is a sweet, affectionate girl who craves human companionship. She’s ready to snuggle up and share all the love she has to give. She’s a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she’s incredibly loyal.
Thin Crust also met another dog in playgroup, and while her playstyle is a bit awkward (rough and rowdy, but low-energy), she did pretty well! So, if you have another dog who’s chill and would be up for some fun, she might be a great fit (with slow proper introductions of course).
This girl deserves a home where she can relax, heal, and thrive. If you think you can offer Thin Crust Pizza the love and care she needs, please reach out! She’s waiting for her forever family, and we’re hoping it’s you. 🏡❤️
Please share or contact us if you're interested in fostering or adopting her. Thin Crust is ready to be your loyal, loving companion!
