It's a mystery why this charming boy is still at the shelter! He defied the odds by surviving overheating when we thought he wouldn't make it. Now, he has super soft fur compared to the bleeding patches of skin he had when he arrived. He is like a brand new, adorable sweet Elephant! He's a low to medium energy guy, more of a co-exister who enjoys interacting with humans in the yard. He might do better with a lower energy dog as a companion.

Bobblo is a 3-year-old, 70-pound boy who is house trained and loves people. He joined us when his previous owner faced a housing crisis and could no longer care for him. One of our volunteers affectionately described him as, "Another big, lovable goofball! So sweet and cuddly!"

We saw an update about Penny! One of our CARE babies who was adopted in 2019!! Here's what her family said:

"Five years ago we walked in to Care STL just “looking” at dogs for adoption and ended up being shown a girl that had been there for over a year, Isla (FKA Penny). The staff loved her so much and we instantly fell too. She’s been the best thing to ever happen to us and in less than a week she’s going to have a human sibling to love and I know she’s going to be the best big sister ever. We are so grateful to the staff that day that introduced us to our first baby 🐾

Alf is the sweetest boy! He loves all people and seems to be good with big kids, but is a little too intense for toddlers (maybe that could change with time but doesn’t seem to be relaxed with them). He seems very curious about cats and maybe could learn to live with them but we’re unsure yet.

He aims to please—he sits in front of people as soon as he meets them and seems to know ‘down’. He’s learned ‘out of the kitchen’ since he’s been with us.
He has such a great personality! He’s super cuddly, friendly with all dogs (even our reactive guy who’s not the best with other dogs), gentle when taking treats and very food-motivated. He really enjoys fetch and is doing great with learning ‘drop it’. He’s excellent on a leash,100% potty trained and non-destructive in the house. Medium energy, always excited to go on a walk but did just fine in the heat wave chilling at home in the AC. He did great on patios at bars too!

He goes into his crate without any problems. He really wants to be around people all the time. Honestly, we can’t figure out why he’s in the shelter system at all! He’s such a good boy. He’s affectionate, friendly, a fast learner, lives to please, loves all people, and is an expert cuddler. He’s perfect and is definitely ready for adoption into a loving family! Holley is eagerly searching for her forever home, hoping to avoid returning to the shelter. This lovely pup is not only super friendly and beautiful but also full of energy. She is fully potty trained, gets along well with other dogs, and is crate trained. Holley is ready to shower her new family with love and affection. 🚨 **URGENT: HELP NEEDED FOR DOGS IN DISTRESS!** 🚨

We are facing a critical situation at our shelter right now. With the heat rising, we’ve just received three dogs who came in overheating, and unfortunately, we have no space available inside the shelter. Our Walnut Warehouse is overflowing with crated dogs, and we desperately need your help!

If you see a dog in distress or overheating, please take immediate action! Here’s how you can help:

💧 **Provide Water**: If you come across a dog that looks overheated, please give them fresh water to drink.

🏠 **Temporary Shelter**: If you can, bring the dog inside your home, into a cooler basement, or a climate-controlled garage until we can find help. Every little bit makes a difference!

🐾 **Reach Out**: While our animal control team is doing their best to respond to calls, we’re overwhelmed and need community support. By helping a dog in need, you can create space for those waiting for assistance.

We cannot stress enough how urgent this is. Your kindness can save lives! Please come to the shelter if you can foster a dog or if you’re able to assist in any way even for a couple of days until the heqtwave is over. Together, we can make sure these dogs get the care they desperately need!

Can you provide Chase with a secure and safe space while his mom is looking for their forever home? Chase and his mom are currently homeless and they cannot find a place where Chase would be allowed to stay with his mom. We are so sad in this situation and we want to give them the chance to be reunited. We do not know if Chase is ok with other dogs. Can you help by temporarily separating him? Indi is sweet and easygoing! We love his expressive ears and affectionate hugs. He’s an excitable guy but will chill pretty quick. He’s very tolerant of puppies and other dogs.
