Meet Rin Tin Tin — also known as Johnny Dollar.
Some dogs love everyone they meet. Tail-wagging diplomats. Social butterflies. Beautiful, but… not always the “soul match” type.
Dollar is different.
He’s a one-and-only dog — the kind who chooses his person, quietly, deliberately… and then loves them with a loyalty that feels ancient. The kind of dog who becomes a chapter of your life — not just a pet.
A friend put it beautifully after losing her soulmate dog. She said:
“Gordy loved ME. Yeti loves everyone.”

Dollar is a Gordy.
A once-in-a-lifetime companion.
His first adventure: The Katy Trail
Dollar and his foster mom just finished a 3-day hiking trip on the Katy Trail with two cozy nights in a B&B. And he was… stellar.
• Calm on leash
• No reaction to bikes
• Cool and confident around other dogs — even a local feral dog who barked his opinion
• On a long line he explored, sniffed, enjoyed — and came right back with just a gentle “No.”
Smart. Attuned. Present.
By night two at the B&B, Dollar said:
“I know the routine. You go do your human things — I’ll hold the bed.”
He’s a bit of a Velcro dog, but respectful about it. He follows with quiet assurance, sits calmly, and sleeps close — maybe too close (we’re working on not being a pillow thief 😂).
Meeting New People
Dollar is a little reserved with new humans — and honestly, that’s part of what makes him special.
Once he sees you’re safe, he melts.
Once he trusts you, you’re his forever.
He met:
• Gretchen, the B&B owner — passed her pat-test easily ✔️
• Stacy at the nursery — tail wag, relaxed ✔️
• Additional strangers — polite, appropriate, observant ✔️
He doesn’t need every person in the world touching him. But he can be around everyone in the world. Quiet confidence.
His Resume
• Found trapped on a roof
(yes, really — and only 25 lbs; now a healthy 45)
• Spent 14 months in the shelter — overlooked because of volume, not value
• Self-taught pro ball player — catches fly balls and brings them back
• LOVES water
• Fabulous with other dogs
• Not destructive
• Potty trained
• Affection expert (face-kiss enthusiast)
• Training started — excellent heel, quick learner
• Cute enough to stop traffic
