✨ Gratitude Post ✨
Back in April 2013, with my son Cameron graduating in 2015 and heading off to play Division 1 football at Mizzou, I knew I needed to make a big change. I sat down, wrote a business plan, secured the funds, and by October 1st my grooming salon was open. It was one of the scariest but best decisions I’ve ever made. 🐾
Since then, this little dream has grown into 12 wonderful years of doing what I love most. At times I’ve had up to five groomers working with me, which allowed me the gift of traveling for four years to watch every one of Cameron’s college games. None of that would have been possible without my amazing, loyal clients. Many of you have been with me since my Groomingdales days, and because of your loyalty, I haven’t been able to take new clients in years. That kind of support has made my life so much easier, and it’s something I will never take for granted. You are the heart of this business.
Since COVID, things shifted, and now I’m back to where I started—just me, grooming and bathing every dog that walks through my door. And I love it. I love your pups like my own, and it is an honor to care for them. The hardest part, though, is losing them. As the years go by, it happens more often, and it never gets easier. That’s where I have to thank my husband most of all. He has moved this business with me twice, held me when I’ve cried over my clients’ dogs passing, and continues to support me with so much patience, love, and understanding. He never lets me feel like I’m carrying that grief alone, and I am beyond grateful for him. 💕
Now, life brings me into a brand new chapter. My football player son is all grown up—29 years old—and he and his partner are expecting their first baby this November. I cannot wait to become a grandma, and my heart is so full.
To my clients, past and present: thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your dogs, for sticking with me through the years, and for being the reason I get to live out a life I love so deeply. Here’s to the next chapter. 🐶💜
