Mila, the beautiful, good natured, sweet-to-everyone Rottie is ready for adoption!
She’s an 80 pound female, and as kind as they come. She’s a go-to for our new volunteers, because she is such a pleasure to walk and spend time with. Every new volunteer that brings her back always says, “Wow, I love her!” She walks beside you on her leash, and sits pretty for a treat. She’s an absolute treasure.
Mila came to us with large mammary tumors (grade 1 and grade 2) that had to be removed. The grade 2 tumor metastasized into the lymph nodes. She did great in surgery and is recovered. But, since it was in the lymph nodes, you can assume there are still cancerous cells in there. There is a 15% chance it will metastasize to her lungs or other organs. So she’s not officially a hospice dog, but her family would need to know this so they can enjoy every moment together.
Stray Rescue will cover her inflammatory medications for the rest of her life, and anything related to her cancer treatment, should it return.
And! Because she’s about 7-8 years old, she makes an excellent candidate for our Seniors for Seniors Program! With this program, we match laid back pups with seniors, as well as offer additional benefits. In Mila’s case, her medications will be covered for any adopter.
Apply to meet this beauty here and break her out of the shelter, where she is living in a crate because we are SO FULL!
