Hello everyone! A few last reminders for those attending Storytime at the Stables! Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10 - 11am.

This is our first event like this so your patience is appreciated lol!!!

This event is best suited for ages birth - 6 years old and costs $5 per child (additional donations are welcome of course!) It will include listening to a read aloud book, making a craft, having a small snack and visiting with the ponies.

While we envision the children sitting on blankets and quilts around our storyteller, adults may want to bring their own chairs.

For this age group, the children will more than likely need help with their craft project and we're sure they'd love the memory of you helping them with it! We will provide the materials!

This is NOT a drop off event. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Storytime starts at 10 am and ends at 11am, some of our volunteers have to get ready for the Pamlico County High School Prom!

I am the practice manager for Valor Horses for Heroes, a specialized trauma therapy practice. I am certified through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) as an Equine Specialist, and hold an additional certification as a Military Services Provider. My husband, Ken, and another awesome therapist in our practice, Molly, also hold this certification. Since partnering with EAGALA and gaining access to the Eagala Military Services Adaptive Sports Grant in June of 2023, we have been able to enroll 23 veterans in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, providing them with 8 sessions at ZERO cost to the veterans. This has been INCREDIBLE and we want to help more veterans find healing in horses! Please reach out if you are interested for yourself or a loved one. The grant is open to individuals, couples, or families (for members over 18). To qualify, the veteran must have a history of trauma, whether military-related or not.
