We have been going hard with our crew so today it was mark the bird go get it.

We had a little bee problem on an island at one of our training ponds, the day before this I was fortunate enough to get stung 7 times in the leg. So the next day I went a little bit more prepared.

We made our way up north to Factoryville,PA to run Retriever Club of Northeast Pennsylvania spring hunt test.

We are super proud of all the dogs and how well they have been doing. It’s been a long couple months but we wouldn’t trade it for the world, the places we get to see and the new friendships we make at these events will last forever.

Thank you to all the volunteers/ members of the club and the judge for spending Father’s Day at the hunt test, without everyone involved these test would not be possible.

Graduation for Miss Millie girl🔥🔥🔥

Millie completed our basic gun dog program and is headed back to Georgia. Funny story how .addison75 and I meet. I was headed to Florida 2 years ago for a seminar and at about 2am in the morning at the famous Buc-ee’s gas station I meet Millie’s owner pumping gas. Long story short 1 year later he’s bought a pup and sent her to virginia. You never know who you will cross paths with in this world and the people you will meet on your journey.

Thank you .addison75 for trusting us with your sweet Millie, she’s a talented young dog with bright future, can’t wait to see her in the duck blind this year. The friendship you build in this world last forever, Evan and his family are the most down to earth and sweetest people you will ever meet.

The crew and I went up north this past weekend to the Keystone Retriever Club hunt test. The crew went 6/8 for the weekend, we are so proud of all the hard work these pups have been putting in.

Thank you Keystone Retriever Club for putting on a fantastic hunt test this weekend. Thank you to all the members and volunteers that make these weekends possible for all the doggies and handlers that run them.

Yesterday session with Elsa was learning slip lead pressure. This morning we added the retrieve into the mix. She is understanding what we are asking of her.

Not everything is perfect in dog training, you will have bad days and good days. At the end of the day they are dogs not robots. Just stay focused and patient with them. There are no emotions in dog training, nothing says you can’t stop the session and come back to it later.

🐾 This weekend, the gang and I ventured to New Jersey for our first HRC test of the season! A huge shoutout to our incredible clients for their unwavering support. The results? A remarkable 20/23 success rate! I couldn't be prouder of our diligent pups and their tireless dedication. Here's to many more triumphs ahead! 🎉

Well Bella and I went to the line for the first time in 2024 at the Cape Fear Retriever Club Spring Field Trial.
We walked away with our first Jam in the Qualifying, I’m so proud of this pup and how far she has come.
The hard days, long days, blood sweat and tears are worth every second when everything comes together on the weekend.

Thank you to the judges and all the club members for putting on a great test and making it run so smoothly

This is a life style we live, this is not a job to me. If you wake up and love what you do everyday it’s not a job it’s a passion.

As a Pro dog trainer our duties aren’t just training we have a lot of other responsibilities on top of just training dogs. Early mornings, late nights, traveling all over the country, care and wellbeing of dogs at the kennel/ on the road.

Sometimes I thank this gets over looked. If we don’t answer our phone right away we aren’t ignoring you, if we don’t get back to you right away we honestly don’t mean it. As a small business owner/ pro trainer we have so many responsibilities laying on us. This is not just for dog trainers this goes for any small business owner out there. We also have family/ friends, trips,vacation, family party’s / kids party’s to attend and a life of our own to attend to.

Well to start our thanksgiving off this year we started a tradition with the boys. Even got to take Gauge out, owned by Michael Kilby . wow this pup has come so far In a year and can’t wait to have him back in the spring time to finish out his hunt test career.

Fun little hunt, but being in the blind with good people makes it even better. Sometimes you just have to get out and disconnect from the world.

I’m super proud of this pup right here, he has come a long way this year. Getting his seasoned title and one finished pass in HRC and now finishing the year out with his senior title today, and being 1 of 2 dogs to pass in one of the senior test today out of 18 dogs.
This pup has taught me so much and has also given me great friend Lynzi Green.

Big news for us here at the kennel,

we go though some dog beds around here, we just couldn’t find a bed that the dogs wouldn’t tar apart.

Well after months of using them we have partner with Kuranda beds and let me say not only is the customer service awesome the beds are just as great.

If you have any questions about the beds or would like to see them in person. We have medium / large beds available at the kennel, we also have some available for you to purchase.

Pictured below is one of the large Kuranda beds we been using for our obedience dogs. It’s been out in the weather now for couple months and still hold up like new. 🔥🔥🔥

I meet Stu and his pups about 3 years ago, I was pulling out of one of my training properties and Stu saw my truck and gave us a call. He had 2 pups that never been force fetch, Charlie his male 3years old and his girl Maggie 2years old. He was a big time upland Hunter and his dogs would flush the birds but they just wouldn’t bring them back. So we took them in and got to work, the point of this story is that even old dogs can still learn new tricks. Every dog is different, you can’t train every dog the same way. I’ve always said, train the dog next to you not the one in the box.

This is Maggie now out in lowa on her first upland hunt, she has also gained her SHR title and her dad and I are now really good friends. Stu does so much for us at beer dog retrievers, we can’t thank him enough. Glad to see him doing what he loves with his girl out in lowa. Good luck buddy and safe travels, we love ya Stu Turnquist

The crew and I headed up to Maryland this weekend to run the Conowingo Hunting Retriever Club test. We went 3/3 in finished ,(1/1 seasoned title),
(8/8 in started 3 titles), all in all crew went 12/12, with 4 titles. We are extremely happy with all the dogs they have definitely been putting in the work.

As always, a huge thank you to the judges who traveled a long ways to put on some great tests. A huge thank you to all the club members and volunteers who made the weekend run smoothly. This club is my favorite test to run every spring and fall, the hospitality from all the club members is 2nd to none. You guys are the best and can’t wait to come back. As always me and my buddy had to get our annual picture together.

Ran nice HRC setup today, bird placement is key when setting your marks up. Today we had thick cover with lots of factors, dogs had to really use there brain today.

Hagrid a 2 year old chessie came to us to be collar condition and force fetch. He has been hunting many times and retrieving well until recently he would go out and sniff the bird and just come back empty handed. He is coming along really nice and the boss was out to help today……..
