Canine Karma Training has a truly unique approach to dog training. For almost a decade our one-of-a-kind system has changed tens of thousands of lives around the world. Our program is focused on the relationship between the dog and owner, because relationship is EVERYTHING. "Relationship dictates behavior and obedience, not repetition." Whether or not your dog listens to you or behaves for you is

heavily based on the relationship that you have with them. Despite mainstream dog training beliefs and practices, you don't get an "obedient" dog from endless hours of working on basic commands (sit, down, come). Obedience is based on the relationship between the one giving the command and the one receiving it. If you do not have an appropriate relationship, you will only have "control" over your dog when you have food in one hand and a leash in the other. We are Reward-Based, Balanced Trainers and do not employ old-school, out-dated methods like Alpha/Dominance Theory, heavy compulsion, or training with fear/intimidation. Our focus is on educating our students to create a much more knowledgable and capable owner. We want you to understand WHY you're doing what you're doing, not just HOW to do it. The relationship we build for you provides a dramatically easier, well-behaved, and obedient dog, that you'll enjoy for the rest of their life.

Big Astro is Astronomically HUGE, sweet, and goofy. He has been such a fun and funny dog to work with. Basically a 100+ pound puppy that just wants to party and play 🤣

Little Oakley absolutely crushed her Board & Train with us and is going home with a much higher set of skills. She was a great dog from the start, but now her training and obedience is drastically more reliable. Utilizing the skills we taught her, her and her owner will build a MUCH higher and stronger relationship. That’s what it’s ALL about though, right? Relationship is absolutely everything.

Dogs make us happy. Plain and simple? Not so much. Countless studies provide unarguable evidence and proof that the average dog owner exercises more than a person without dogs (over 50% more likely to get daily exercise). Petting a dog increases IgA levels: an infection fighting antibody. Growing up in a household with a dog raises resistance to things like respiratory allergies, eczema, and asthma. Sociological surveys show that having or acquiring a dog helps unite families and relationships. Studies have shown that acquiring a pet reduces blood pressure in people with hypertension. Stress levels are reduced by simply being in the presence of an animal. Interacting and petting a dog raises dopamine, oxytocin, and prolactin, immediately making you feel good/better. Endless socio and psychological studies and surveys also show that dog owners are significantly more social in their everyday lives. And what's that? Unconditional love? That feels pretty damn good too....❤️

Big Buddha is almoooooost done with his Board & Train and he has made an insane amount of progress from when he first started. I’m really looking forward to watching him continue to progress with his family once he goes home!

Two days ago, October 11th, would have been my mother’s 67th birthday. This picture always reminds me of her because of how much she loved the ocean - and this picture.

At 8:47am, my son was born, now sharing the same birthday as my mom. While I hate that he will never know her, or Karma, I know that the memory of both will always be powerfully present. I also know that they will both be watching.

I couldn’t be happier or more thankful for this next chapter of my life. I feel truly, truly blessed to be able to spend it with my incredible wife .karma.isabela, to whom I owe absolutely everything!

Denim is finishing up his Board and Train with us in a few days and we couldn’t be happier with his progress. He’s an AWESOME dog with an insane amount of potential. Everyone here will be prettyyyyy sad to see him go!

Look. At. That. Face.
Oscar has one week left in his Board & Train program and at this point… he’s a very, very different dog. His good qualities are now GREAT. He is no longer reactive and aggressive towards other people and dogs (and he bit quite a lot of people, so this is a very big deal). He went from being incredibly defiant to Incredibly obedient. He started with no food drive, and now it is very high. He is an awesome little dog and just further proves the age-old adage, “it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.”
