Established in 2015, FOSCAS aides the Stafford County Animal Shelter in its efforts to help homeless animals in our county. ounty Animal Shelter, improve the quality of life for the Shelter’s animals, promote spay and neuter, assist in raising funds to support and promote the Stafford County Animal Shelter, assist with Shelter volunteers, provide education for responsible dog and cat ownership and facilitate outreach and educational activities about the humane treatment of companion animals throughout Stafford County. FOSCAS is all-volunteer. No one receives a salary. We are fortunate that we have a welcome partnership with Stafford County Animal Shelter. All donations go directly to the animals!

Now that there is a local Tractor Supply Co, we have discovered that many of the products we purchase regularly for the shelter are in stock and for less than other places around. If we buy in bulk, they are also willing to offer us a slight discount. So, we are now officially asking for TSC gift cards. You can purchase the e-gift card (https://bit.ly/foscas-giftcard) and have it emailed to us to be applied to the next bulk order we make. Please use [email protected] as the recipient email address. Thank you

The shelter is in desparate need of cat and kitten food. They are overwhelmed, and sadly, no one is adopting 😭 If you can donate food, they, and we, really appreciate it. We are also collecting monetary donations and will place an order with the funds. Lastly, don’t forget to visit the Stafford County Animal Shelter page and share posts of their adoptable animals. Let’s help these cuties find some homes. As always, thank you for your support ❤️

The Stafford County Animal Shelter is in desperate need of limited ingredient salmon dog food for several of their dogs. We realize this is a more expensive food; however, there are several dogs in their care with special health conditions that are responding well to this particular food.

We are collecting funds to order them several bags, or, you can send it on your own through the Chewy or Amazon Wish List (or purchase anywhere else you can find it).

Please take a moment to share this post, spread the word, and let’s see if we can not only get some food donated, but also help find some forever homes. Thank you so much!

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, put the “Bowl-o-Rama” at Corgi Clay Art Center on your calendar. It’s not only going to be a fun time, but it benefits the Stafford County Animal Shelter 💕

Check out this amazing lineup for this upcoming Saturday!!!
If you're looking for something to do by yourself, or with your friends or with your family then you should definitely come out to the Corgi Clay Art Center at 15 Tech Parkway Suite 101 in Stafford Virginia on Saturday August 31st at noon. This first annual bowl-a-rama event is to benefit the Stafford Animal Shelter. Proceeds from all Bowl sales that day will benefit the shelter. But we have so much more to offer!

Bad Monkey ice cream will be there with their ice cream truck selling soft serve and many more sweet treats!

We've lined up amazing artist demonstrations and mini workshops for ages as young as five and up!!

There will be a "second's" table where 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Stafford Animal Shelter and all of the artwork on that table has been made by Studio artists and students.

And if you're one of the first 20 people to buy bowls at this event then your ice cream is on us!!

Come support a great cause and enjoy a beautiful day doing creative activities for the whole family!!!

🚨 URGENT PLEA FOR HELP 🚨

We at Stafford County Animal Shelter are reaching a breaking point. Our resources and staff are exhausted, and we desperately need your help.

💔This month alone, we’ve had a record 32 dogs surrendered to our shelter in just 20 days.💔

In addition, this month we’ve housed 23 stray dogs, with only 18 being reunited with their owners so far. In total, this leaves us with 57 dogs currently in our care - 41 of them are available for adoption.

This situation is unprecedented and simply not maintainable. Despite reaching out to our community countless times in the past few months, we find ourselves in an even worse situation each time we catch a glimpse of relief and the fact is, we are now at a breaking point.

We are NOT a no-kill facility. The harsh reality is that without immediate assistance, we are running out of options for these loving animals who deserve a second chance.

If you or someone you know is looking to adopt a dog or if your organization can help, we implore you to please step forward. Your help can make all the difference. Come rescue one of our many dogs and give them the loving home they so desperately need. 🐾❤️

Until further notice, we will be taking surrenders on an emergency only basis. Additionally, adoption fees will be waived for the remainder of the month.

Please share this post and help us spread the word.

URGENT: Y'all... we don't even know where to start. Animal Control picked up 4 dogs who have had a pretty rough go of it. They were kept kenneled together and, unfortunately, didn't get along so they attacked each other repeatedly, over an extended period of time. Even worse, their injuries were left untreated.

Once rescued from this situation, all 4 dogs were rushed to the vet where they were treated for their old, and new, injuries. Injuries that range from a broken leg, to deep puncture wounds and large lacerations. We have shared one photo of each of the dogs below. These are the least graphic of each. We just could not bear to share the rest.

Thanks to Animal Control, the Stafford County Animal Shelter, and all of you, these dogs have hope for a bright future, but they also have a long road to recovery. As of now, they are all stable but will require extensive follow up vet care before they are healthy enough for adoption.

We are fundraising to help cover all of their vet costs and well as any other additional needs that may arise. To help, please like and share this post. To donate, click the button below, or, if you prefer, donate through PayPal here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=W4KMKCVHVU4CE { FOSCAS is a 501(c)(3), and all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Any additional funds raised will be used for the next animal in need}.

As always, we appreciate all donations of any size, as well as each and every post and share of this story. Together we can and ❤️

We are so thankful to SFC Virginia for their support of the Stafford County Animal Shelter. Recently, the shelter received two litters of puppies from rural VA shelters that tested positive for Parvovirus upon arrival. One passed away shortly after arriving in our care but SFC stepped up in a big way and took in the remaining 14 puppies! With two more having passed, they are still caring for 12 who desperately need help.

Parvo is a devastating (and preventable) virus. Thanks to SFC Virginia, these little ones now have their best chance at survival.

We wanted to give all our followers the opportunity to support this incredible local rescue, just as you always support us. Let's show SFC Virginia some love for their amazing work!

10 million pets are lost in America every year. Chip Your Pet Month is celebrated every May and is meant to encourage microchipping so pets can be quickly found and reunited with their owners.

Microchipping your pet is quick and painless, and only needs to be done once in a pet’s lifetime. Having your pet chipped boosts your odds of reuniting with them.

The Stafford County Animal Shelter is offering half price microchips for the month of May. Simply bring your pet into the shelter anytime during business hours. Microchips are $10!

Once chipped, be sure to keep your contact information up to date.

UPDATE: Y’all are amazing!! The shelter went from less than a shelf to over 5 shelves of food❤️

They are all set for now on dog food, but can still use non-clumping cat litter if you like to help. Thank you!!

This is ALL the dog food the Stafford County Animal Shelter has left. They are in desparate need of bags. If you can help, you can drop it off in person (26 Frosty Lane, 22554) or, you can order from their Amazon Wish List. They are also almost out of cat litter so non-clumping bags would be much appreciated. Thank you ❤️

UPDATE: Sadly, after further evauluation by the vet, Jorge’s injuries were worse than originally thought. The difficult decision was made for humane euthanasia. We appreciate all your donations and they will go to cover his already extensive vet bills.

Huge thanks to his amazing foster family. We are so glad they had a chance to say good-bye ❤️

—————————

Hey all. Bit of a crazy situation going on right now with one of the Stafford County Animal Shelter kittens.

Jorge came in with his littermates at 1 week old and no mom. His poor brother was so hungry when they were found he was attempting to nurse… on Jorge… on his… ahem.

They have, of course, been separated, however, poor Jorge suffered a lot of trauma to the area which lead to a massive infection.

Even with immediate vet care, the injury led to scarring causing his p***s to be sealed over. His urine is now going into the tissue around his entire ge***al area which requires immediate surgery. He is at the vet being evaluated now for that procedure, and we are asking for help with funds to provide Jorge with this life-saving procedure.

To help Jorge, please like and share this post. To donate, click the button below, or, if you prefer, donate through PayPal here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=2KQE8SJV4KRFE { FOSCAS is a 501(c)(3), and all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Any additional funds raised will be used for the next animal in need}.

As always, we appreciate all donations of any size, as well as each and every post and share of his story. Together we can and ❤️
