Freezing temperatures for the next 2 days & nights.
Aviaries are being wrapped, blankets installed, heaters & heated perches checked. The old birds & the birds that don’t have all their feathers are being moved from their
aviary into our buildings. We have 2 buildings that many of our parrots call home; Safe Landings & the WTF building. It’s going to be really crowded but they will be safe and warm. Many of our smaller walk in aviaries have nest boxes. Not for breeding but it’s a great place for the birds to go when it’s cold outside.

A friendly reminder we have a set day for Bird Grooming!
Hayley Heartfield will be at the store 11am-5pm on THIS SATURDAY Nov. 11th to do bird grooming.
This will be on a walk in basis so we can get as many people done as possible just remember there may be a wait, and the next grooming date will not be until December or January depending on schedules.
I will be doing this on my own so I will prefer cash payment, or via Venmo, Cashapp, or Zelle. However, I am being hosted by All About Birds which directly benefits the Magnolia Exptic Bird Sanctuary.
So, please shop their store while you're there for grooming. If you have any questions you can reach me directly at [email protected].

Back Story
He was found in a yard and taken to a shelter. He was just a baby about 6 months old.
Sharon picked up this little guy from the Houston SPCA in the summer of 2017. A few days later he was a adopted by a good friend of ours however a year ago our friend had to bring him back. He had a great life with his first family. (circumstances warranted his return) All of our adopters must agree to return our birds to us if they can no longer keep them for any reason!
He has his forever home with a great lady. She recently lost her cockatiel after 28 years.
We are so happy for Fonzie💖

Here we go again!
Today we picked up 3 African Greys and 4 Cockatoos in Boerne Texas.
Ages are 25 to 40 years old. Most were used for breeding. Their owner passed away suddenly and there is no one to care for them now.
They all need new cages, toys and vet checks.
We appreciate any help you can give.

A compassionate lady from Austin reached out, seeking help that captured the heart of her 22 year old Autistic son. Driven by his love for animals, he had purchased with his own hard earned savings account $5000.00, envisioning a life beyond the confines of a small pet shop cage. Sharon and Rick have stepped in to make a difference. Without hesitation, they traveled to Austin, Texas to pick Sylvester up and ensure he receives the care he desperately needs. Once cleared of any contagious diseases by Dr. Fronefield at ABC Animal and Bird Clinic, Sugarland Texas, we will be working with a Toucan specialist in our community to care for him. Every player in this story from the lady in Austin to the autistic young man, Sharon, Rick and our local Toucan specialist is contributing out of the kindness of their hearts. Rescued from horrific conditions cockatiels are enjoying their new aviary at the Sanctuary. These 12 little beauties are a part of the Wichita Falls 90 parrot rescue in March 2023. The birds were living in horrific conditions in a back room of a retail pet store and were seized by the authorities. We purchased a new building specifically for the 90 birds to provide a nurturing clean safe environment. In the Spring and Fall is the time of year when parrots can safely be relocated from a temperature controlled indoor environment to an aviary. The milder weather enables the birds to safely acclimate to the outdoor climate. They are all thriving and very happy!
