It's been 18 long months, and sweet Kitty is still waiting for her forever family. This special soul is now 2 years old, and our hearts break a little more each day that she remains in foster care without a home to call her own.
Kitty may appear reserved and shy at first glance, but with patience and love, she transforms into a playful companion. She takes her time to trust, but when she does, she seeks out attention and affection in the most endearing ways. Kitty dreams of being your only pet, thriving in a home with adults who have experience with cats. She needs a family who understands her unique personality and can offer her the patience and love she deserves.
It's so sad to see her still waiting after all this time, longing for the comfort of a forever home. Kitty has so much love to give, but she just needs that special family who will give her the chance to show it. Could you be the one to finally end her wait and fill her days with the love and security she craves?
Please consider giving Kitty the home she has been dreaming of. She’s ready to open her heart to you—are you ready to do the same?

Imagine ending up at a loud, crowded shelter, confused and scared…
This is Tilly’s story.
A shelter partner reached out to us, desperate to find help for this sweet girl, and though we have slowed down our intakes and our funds are lower than ever, we simply couldn't turn her away!
Tilly is a young female Bulldog who we suspect has dealt with the unimaginable. When she entered the shelter, it was discovered that Tilly has no toes on her back feet. We don't know the cause of this – it’s possible she chewed them off at some point in desperation from unbearable discomfort, or worse. Adding to this, the shelter staff found what seemed to be burn marks on her tender belly and back. This poor little girl has likely endured a life of sheer neglect and cruelty, and it breaks our hearts!
Despite all she has faced, Tilly remains a gentle soul, full of love. She is friendly with dogs and cats, and her eyes light up around people! What Tilly needs now more than ever is a safe, loving foster home to heal and experience the kindness she has been so cruelly denied.
We are stretched thin, with no open fosters and minimal funds, but Tilly’s plight is too heartbreaking to ignore. Please, if you have room in your heart and home, consider fostering Tilly. We provide ALL supplies! We are looking for a foster home within CT and a reasonable driving distance for vet visits at one of our partner vets. Ideally, she'd go to an experienced foster with older kids.
Our generous friends at Thomas J. Costello Landscaping heard about Tilly's story and have offered to sponsor a portion of her medical care -- we are SO grateful for their support!!
If you want to help us help Tilly, any donation, no matter how small, will ensure that we can provide the supplies & medical care she so desperately needs.
Text PPRCT to 53555 to donate and change Tilly’s life.
Help us show Tilly that she is not alone, that she is cherished, and that her life matters!!

Can you hear that loud, whooshing, machine-like sound? That's our sweet little Nova's heart murmur...
Nova visited our friends at Mount Carmel Veterinary Hospital, and it was determined that she has a heart condition called a PDA - Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). This is one of the most common congenital heart defects in dogs -- the failure of a large blood vessel (ductus arteriosus) to close just after birth.
Fortunately, with appropriate diagnosis and correction of PDA in dogs, the vast majority will live a full and healthy life. Without treatment, they often die within the first year.
So, how do we fix Nova's heart?!...
Smaller dogs like her require open chest surgery to close the vessel. This is a procedure that has to be done by a board certified surgeon/cardiologist as it is a delicate surgery, especially since Nova is so tiny (only 3.7lbs)!
There is NO other option except to get Nova the life-saving surgery she needs! We have reached out to a couple specialists to get quotes (although we know this will be costly). Once we have the official numbers, we will need your help to raise enough money to be able to schedule Nova's procedure.
We should have more info on cost soon, so we will keep you all updated. Nova is such a special and sassy gal, and we have to do everything possible to make sure she lives a FULL, happy and healthy life! ❤️
HAPPY TAIL!!!
Our adorable bulldog pup Max is fully healed from his elbow surgery! His foster family decided that they just couldn't let him go, so they officially made him a permanent member of the pack! We are so excited for Max and know he is in the most amazing hands!
Thank you Amy & family for not only rehabbing Max through his surgery, but ultimately giving him the best forever home!! We are so grateful.
Happy life, Max! ❤️
THERE'S GOTTA BE A FAMILY OUT THERE LOOKING FOR AN ADORABLE, PLAYFUL, SCRUFFY PUP LIKE MOOSE...
This super cute 4 month old boy came to us from a local shelter, and he is learning so much while in his foster home! He is super smart, and we have him working with a trainer to learn basic puppy manners so he becomes the very best pup he can be!
Moose is spunky and snuggly too! He can be your only pet, but he would really thrive in a home with another young and playful dog. Moose does well with cat pals too! He absolutely loves to play outside - sunshine or snow - Moose is ready to romp around. His ideal home would be with a dog-savvy family with kids age 12+ or adults only (he's still working on his puppy mouthy behavior).
He's completely crate trained (loves his crate) and doing really well with going potty outside. Moose knows "sit" and "leave it" commands, and he's eager to learn more! We are unsure of Moose's breed mix (there's something adorably scruffy in there!), and we estimate he will be around 50lb fully grown.
If you're interested in meeting Moose, fill out an application today via our website www.pprct.org!
PLEASE take a moment to SHARE Moose - we can't believe he's been in foster care for over a month without finding the right match!
Say hello to our new rat terrier mix puppies😍

Sweet bulldog puppy Max was surrendered to us because he was in pain, and needed major elbow surgery. As we do, we said YES immediately, with the hopes that our amazing PPR community would help us cover this huge expense.
We are pleased to report that Max is recovering well in his foster home and now we turn to you to help us bring his recovery to a positive closure! He will go back to the surgeon in one month for a recheck, and repeat x-rays to ensure proper healing.
We are only able to help animals like Max because of your generosity! And it is that generosity we are hoping will help us recoup the cost for his surgery. As always, 100% of your contribution will go toward his vet bills (already exceeding $5000 - not including his upcoming recheck/x-rays), and all donations are fully tax deductible.

💔 URGENT PLEA: Tiny Puppies Fighting for Their Lives! 💔
🚨 We need your help right now! 🚨 Our hearts are breaking for two tiny puppies who are in a dire situation! They're fighting against severe illness, and without immediate veterinary intervention, they are at risk of facing this fight alone, in the shelter, with no one to hold them in their final moments.
😢 Their gums are pale white from severe anemia, and the only chance of survival lies in a blood transfusion. These innocent souls are clinging to life, and we couldn't stand idly by, even though our funds are stretched thin. We had to act, to do everything in our power to give them a fighting chance. So, without any plan except to try our best to save them, they're being rushed to the vet right at this very moment.
❤️ Today, we come to you with tears in our eyes, asking for your kindness and compassion to help these precious puppies survive. We can't bear the thought of them suffering or passing away without knowing the love and care they deserve.
🙏 Your donation, no matter how big or small, will directly impact their fate. Your generosity could mean the difference between life and death for these innocent souls. No other rescue stepped up, and when we got the urgent plea, we knew we were their only chance!
💕 Share this urgent plea with friends, family, and everyone in your network. Let's rally together and show these little fighters that they are not alone in this world.
🏥 Every dollar raised will go directly towards medical care. With your help, we can provide them with the necessary blood transfusions and treatment they need to survive. Please, find it in your heart to make a donation today.
🐾🌈 We believe in the power of compassion, and we're relying on your support to make this miracle happen. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can provide.

Our adorable 11 month old, 46lb pit mix puppy Laken is still looking for his perfect forever family!
Laken is SO SWEET, and he REALLY loves playing with other dogs that can match his puppy play energy - so a home with another young, playful dog 45lb or larger is ideal for him!! He's learning to walk well on leash, doing great with potty training, and is crate trained. We would also love to find him a home with a fenced yard, but will consider experienced dog families without one. All Laken wants is attention from the people he loves, so if you're looking for a sidekick to spend lots of time with, he's your guy! Laken would thrive with an active family with kids over age 7. He's just a happy, goofy, energetic puppy that's looking for a dog-savvy family that can give him a lot of attention and love!
Laken is a GREAT puppy, and he deserves the best home ever! He'd make a wonderful best buddy for another dog who is looking for a live-in playmate, and for humans that really enjoy spending time with their dogs!

Yesterday, we saw a plea asking for help with a stray kitten that someone had found and brought to one of our vet partners...
Meet Cleo!
This shy yet sweet kitten is estimated to be around 11 weeks old. Unfortunately, Cleo is currently suffering from an upper respiratory and eye infection. She got checked out by our vet, and has started medication to help her feel better ASAP!
Cleo will go to foster to recover, and we are hopeful that she will come out of her shell a bit more as she starts to feel better. Hopefully within the next 1-2 weeks, we can start looking for her forever home!
Welcome to PPR, sweet Cleo! ❤️
It's hard for us to believe that a dog-friendly, crate-trained, medium-sized, kid-loving pup like Leo has been waiting OVER ONE YEAR in foster care for a forever family to pick him...
This handsome pup is a Distemper survivor, and he continues to thrive in his foster home. His foster mom says he is SO well behaved and sweet! Leo has muscle and nerve spasms in his front leg which are a result of his previous Distemper infection. His leg twitches every 2-3 seconds, and will likely continue to do this for the duration of his life. Specialists say that it’s possible it could need to be amputated in the future, but there's really no way to know for sure. Leo is pain-free, and uses his leg when running and playing, and he doesn't even know he's "different" in any way.
Leo loves every single person he meets, including kids! He is excellent with other dogs, and his ideal home would have another playful dog and a fenced yard for him to run around in - he also loves to lounge outside in the sun! Leo is about 40lbs. He is a hound/lab mix, and is potty & crate trained. He enjoys leash walks around the neighborhood, and gets SO excited every time he meets a new person or doggy friend!
If your family is looking for a really special, amazingly gentle and loving dog, Leo is your guy! Please visit our website www.pprct.org and fill out an adoption application if you are interested in adopting Leo.
PLEASE SHARE -- Leo is LONG overdue to join his forever family, and we need YOUR help to find them!!
Check out our boy Toad enjoying the foster life!
He's in a temporary foster home and doing really well so far! We are working on getting a plan in place to move him to his permanent foster soon!
The more we learn about this boy, the more we love him! This is the first time he has played since being in our care, which means he's starting to realize he's safe and loved.
Toad is still on medications and will be seen by a specialist to assess his legs/back and his breathing as soon as we transition him to his long-term foster.
More to come on this special boy soon... 🐸
***EMERGENCY - HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!!!!***
An hour ago we saw a post pleading for help with a 2 week old puppy that wouldn't latch and is obviously struggling to breathe. We knew the minute we saw this video, that we HAD to help! This puppy is in Rhode Island, and we have no vets that we work with that give us a discount there, but this puppy needed the ER immediately, and no one else was stepping up.
So, we made the decision to have this puppy rushed to an emergency vet in Rhode Island, and called them right away to make sure they'd accept her. Thankfully they said yes, as we explained this puppy would certainly die without attention!
This little girl who is now named Jane is at the hospital, and the doctors say it is a 50/50 chance she will survive. She has aspiration pneumonia, but could also have some congenital issues causing her failure to thrive, as she is a product of "accidental" breeding of a father and daughter dog.
The doctors recommended we place her in oxygen, place an IV catheter, give her dextrose and start antibiotics to see if any improvement over the next few hours. We are hoping that we got to this baby girl soon enough to help her! The doctor is due to call us again in a few hours with an update (sooner if things take a turn).
When we saw Jane we knew we had to help - discounted medical bills or not. Watching her gasping for air broke our hearts!!!
We will post again when we have new info, but for now we need your good energy and support!!

Tori's babies are growing more and more every day!!!
They're totally weaned from mom, and are eating puppy food only at this point. We can't believe they're already 6 weeks old! We will be getting new individual photos to share with all of you, and then announce when we will start taking applications for these cute little chunks!
Stay tuned...
Our amazing boy Starks is STILL waiting for a family of his own...
He has been great with the other dogs in his foster home, and with all people he has met thus far. He hasn't met any young kids, so a home with older kids/teens would be ideal! Starks has not met any cats at this time. His perfect home would be with another dog around his size that wants a playmate! He's really great about matching the play styles of his doggy friends. Starks is potty & crate trained, although he prefers to be on the couch with his people more than he likes being alone. He is learning to walk well on leash, and enjoys walks around the neighborhood. He's really good at entrertaining himself with toys! He loves tennis balls... he'll chase them, destroy them and sometimes even brings them back! Starks is really good boy with a goofy & loving personality, and he's going to make one lucky family very happy! He is about 2 years old, 65 lbs.
If you're interested in adopting Starks, please visit our website www.pprct.org and fill out an application!
Once you meet him, we know you'll fall in love!
Check out mama Tori getting some much-needed play time away from her babies!
She is settling in really well with her foster family, and taking full advantage of their beautiful fenced yard! Any chance she gets, she's outside romping around (or napping on the couch)! It's really great to see her becoming comfortable and happy now that she's out of the hospital and in a loving and low-stress environment!
Tori's babies are growing bigger by the day, and they have even started eating puppy food along with the occasional nursing.
Keep an eye out for more updates, and official individual photos of Tori's adorable pups! ❤️
SCOUT UPDATE!!
Yesterday, Scout finally turned the corner and started to perk up! Her breathing became less labored, and the doctors felt that they could slowly try to start weaning her off oxygen through the night!
Today, we got this amazing video of Scout enjoying a walk and some play time outside with her fabulous nurses! As of this afternoon, she has been fully weaned off oxygen and is taking oral medication instead of IV. The doctors want to keep her overnight one more night to make sure she maintains the capability to breathe without assistance.
The team at the hospital say that Scout has become quite sassy and is FULL of personality! She's becoming a normal puppy more and more every day. We are hopeful that we will get the green light from the doctors to transition Scout to a foster home by Friday! She will need to continue to be on medication and should ideally be separated from any dogs in the home (unless a bit older and fully vaccinated). It seems whatever caused the pneumonia is viral, but we are so glad she is making progress and finally out of the woods!
If anyone is interested in fostering or fostering to adopt Scout, please submit an adoption application via our website www.pprct.org. Pit bull experience preferred! She will need to go back in 1 week for repeat x-rays at our vet in Norwalk, so anyone who is interested must be able to work with us to get her there!
