PEPPER UPDATE!!
Our little fighter Pepper continues to defy odds and is responding really well to the parvo monoclonal antibody injection so far! She is eating on her own, has not vomited and her diarrhea has resolved. We are keeping our paws crossed that there is no turn for the worse in her future, but with parvo we just never know! The doctors are hopeful that she is on the mend, and will continue to improve every day.
With that being said, Pepper is now ready to go to a foster home! Ideally we would find a foster without other dogs, but she can go to an experienced foster home with dogs that are regularly vaccinated against parvo or who can keep her separated for 10 days. She can be around cats without issue.
Our friends at MedVet have been so amazing in caring for Pepper and we are grateful! They agreed to help watch her for a couple days until we solidify a foster home, but time is of the essence as Pepper can't stay there long term!
This tiny gal won't need much special care, just antibiotics and love! If you have foster experience or are dog-savvy, please consider helping!

Rylo's Journey to Healing and Happiness
We are thrilled to share that our brave little Rylo is settling in wonderfully at his foster home. 🐾 Despite everything he’s been through, he’s learning how to just be a puppy, and his foster mom can’t stop gushing about how sweet and smart he is. He’s already mastering “sit” like a pro—proof that this little guy is full of determination and love. 💖
Rylo is also becoming more tolerant of his medical treatments, which is a huge step forward in his healing. While we know he still has a long road ahead, we are doing everything we can to help him get better. His next recheck with the vet is in two weeks, and we’re hopeful for continued progress.
Rylo has captured all our hearts, and we are committed to seeing him through this tough time. But we can’t do it alone. Your support is crucial in ensuring he gets the best care possible. Kitty dreams of being your only pet, thriving in a home with adults who have experience with cats. Imagine ending up at a loud, crowded shelter, confused and scared…
This is Tilly’s story.
A shelter partner reached out to us, desperate to find help for this sweet girl, and though we have slowed down our intakes and our funds are lower than ever, we simply couldn't turn her away!
Tilly is a young female Bulldog who we suspect has dealt with the unimaginable. When she entered the shelter, it was discovered that Tilly has no toes on her back feet. We don't know the cause of this – it’s possible she chewed them off at some point in desperation from unbearable discomfort, or worse. Adding to this, the shelter staff found what seemed to be burn marks on her tender belly and back. This poor little girl has likely endured a life of sheer neglect and cruelty, and it breaks our hearts!
Despite all she has faced, Tilly remains a gentle soul, full of love. She is friendly with dogs and cats, and her eyes light up around people! What Tilly needs now more than ever is a safe, loving foster home to heal and experience the kindness she has been so cruelly denied.
We are stretched thin, with no open fosters and minimal funds, but Tilly’s plight is too heartbreaking to ignore. Please, if you have room in your heart and home, consider fostering Tilly. We provide ALL supplies! We are looking for a foster home within CT and a reasonable driving distance for vet visits at one of our partner vets. Ideally, she'd go to an experienced foster with older kids.
