Project Precious Rescue is the love child of two animal rescuers who were unsatisfied with working for others. We rescue on our terms, dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, we do not discriminate against breeds, and we follow our own rules and beliefs in the best interest of the animals. We keep it as simple as that. We are a small scale rescue with ever changing adoptables, so please check in frequently to find your new best friend!

Meet Dolly 🌸 – a gentle, loving Puggle looking for her forever home

Dolly is an 8-year-old Puggle with the sweetest soul. She is an incredibly loving, well-mannered girl who just wants to enjoy life and be loved!

She is fully potty trained, walks nicely on leash, and has wonderful house manners. Dolly is currently working on losing a little weight with a restricted diet and takes joint supplements to keep her comfortable and happy. She’s doing great and enjoying her journey to a healthier life.

Dolly loves being outside, happily exploring the yard, and she has a playful side—she enjoys toys and loves to romp around with other dogs. She does well with cats, though she sometimes thinks they might want to play a game of chase. Her ideal home would include another friendly, social dog, but she would also be perfectly content as the only pup soaking up all the attention.

Because of her calm and gentle nature, Dolly would do best in a home with older kids, teens, or adults who can respect her space and enjoy her steady companionship.

Today we’re celebrating one of the absolute hearts of Project Precious Rescue — Rachel! 💜

Rachel has fostered hundreds of puppies, kittens, and special-needs pets, giving them love, patience, and a chance at the lives they deserve. She is truly one of the right-hand people to our Director, and without her dedication and tireless behind-the-scenes work, we simply could not do what we do day to day.

She has a huge heart, and is a genuinely special person. We are beyond lucky to have her as part of the PPR family.

🌟 **Happy Tail Update: Mama Cat Pepper** 🌟

We are thrilled to share that mama cat Pepper has been adopted by an absolutely amazing family—and she is doing wonderfully! 💕

Pepper has settled right in and is clearly a perfect fit. Her family adores her, and it’s obvious she is so loved and cherished. After everything this sweet mama has been through, seeing her thriving in a safe, happy home fills our hearts beyond words.

**From Sandy to Dory — a story we didn’t expect... 💛**

When we officially introduced Sandy, she had just been rescued from a local shelter after coming in as a stray. A couple of weeks into her foster home, we received a message that completely changed her story.

Someone reached out saying they believed Sandy was their dog — missing for two years. They had been searching for her, offered a reward, and even shared the location where she originally went missing… which matched exactly where she had been found. We immediately re-scanned her for a microchip, and sure enough it was there and — it was a match.

Her real name is Dory, and she’s actually 13 years old.

We were overjoyed at the thought of reuniting Dory with her long-lost owner. Unfortunately, life had other plans. Since losing Dory, her owner’s health has declined, and she is no longer able to care for a dog. With love and trust, she asked us to find Dory a safe, happy home for her golden years.

We learned that Dory is quite the escape artist, which is how she originally went missing. We believe someone likely took her in for a couple of years, and when she escaped again, she was picked up by animal control. This story is such an important reminder of how vital microchipping your pets truly is — it gave Dory back her name and her history.

💛About Dory:

* Yorkie mix, ~10 lbs
* 13 years young
* Loves all humans
* Enjoys being outside and staying active — she needs regular walks
* Does okay with small, calm dogs once she knows them, but would likely thrive as your one and only
* Housebroken and also uses a p*e pad
* Sleeps through the night and loves her own bed
* Very quiet — mostly communicates with little grunts or growls for food or walks, with only the occasional bark

Dory is doing wonderfully in her foster home, and her foster says she is truly a great dog. She’s ready to spend the rest of her golden years loved, cherished, and safe — exactly how every senior deserves.

🐾 **Why is Teeter still waiting?!** 🐾

We can’t believe our girl Teeter hasn’t found her forever home yet — she’s truly one of a kind! 💕

This 1-year-old, 12 lb Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix is FULL of personality and so much fun to be around. Teeter loves everyone she meets — people, dogs, even cats! She’s got a real zest for life and is always up for an adventure.

She enjoys hiking, walks, car rides, is crate trained and great on leash. When the day winds down, she’s just as happy to curl up for snuggles — the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. ❤️

Her ideal home needs to be with another young, playful dog to keep her company. She would also thrive with a fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Teeter would love to join a family who will include her in all their adventures.

💙 **A Gentle Reminder from Project Precious Rescue** 💙

Project Precious Rescue is 100% volunteer-run. Every email, message, application review, transport, vet visit, and foster coordination happens outside of our full-time jobs, families, and personal responsibilities.

Right now, we are actively saving dogs and cats, pulling them from shelters, coordinating emergency placements, and getting them the medical care they desperately need. On a daily basis, we are inundated with emails, DMs, and messages, and because of this, responses may take some time.

We kindly ask for your patience while we:
🐾 Review applications carefully
🐾 Ensure the best possible match for each animal
🐾 Coordinate vetting, fosters, and adopters

Please also take a moment to read our posts carefully, especially those explaining how to apply. Most questions are already answered there.

📍 **Important:** We adopt to the tri-state area and surrounding states within a few hours’ driving distance only. This helps us ensure safe transitions, proper follow-ups, and support for our adopters and animals.

We promise—every message matters, and every application is reviewed. We just ask for grace and patience as we continue doing this lifesaving work with limited hands and big hearts.

🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR - 2026! 🎉

As we welcome a new year, all of us at Project Precious Rescue are filled with gratitude, reflection, and hope. 💛

This past year in rescue was full of highs and lows — late nights, urgent pleas, medical cases that tested us, and moments that broke our hearts. But it was also filled with second chances, wagging tails, soft purrs, healing, and happy endings that reminded us exactly why we do this work.

None of it would be possible without our supporters and donors who believe in our mission, our volunteers who give their time and hearts, our fosters who open their homes (and couches) to animals in need, our shelter partners who work alongside us to save lives, our veterinary partners who go above and beyond with compassion and care, and our amazing adopters who give these animals the forever homes they deserve — THANK YOU. Every life saved and every happy ending is because of you!

As we step into the new year, we know there will be more animals who need us. More challenges to face. But we also know that together, we are strong. With your continued support, we will keep showing up, keep fighting for the overlooked, the broken, and the forgotten, and keep believing in the power of love and community.

Meet David Porker 🐷💙 — your perfect laid-back companion.

David is a 6–8-year-old Olde English Bulldogge with a heart as big as his adorable wrinkles. He’s easygoing, low energy, and super sweet, the kind of dog who effortlessly fits into family life.

David is great with kids of all ages, does well with other dogs, and would likely be fine with cats with a proper introduction. He’s a calm, gentle soul who is happiest cuddled up by your side, soaking in all the love. Lounging, relaxing, and keeping you company are his favorite pastimes.

He’s not much of a toy guy, but he does have a playful side — especially when it comes to chasing a laser pointer, which he finds endlessly entertaining.
