Our vocal girl is finally ready to find her home! She came to us after her owner passed away 😔 she is currently missing fur and has scabs around her neck due to live fleas being found, but she has since been cleared from that after capstar and flea medication was administered when she came in to us 🙂

Minnie is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations.

Nugget is looking for her perfect Valentine. She is an older girl who needs someone who will feed her small meals with a slow feeder. She tends to eat to much to fast and gets sick. She is probably one of our most terrified girls who came from the house of Maine C***s 😔 we believe she will come around quickly and already know she will be spoiled!

Within minutes before closing, we had 3 of our cats get adopted! These 3 came from a house with roughly 13 cats, they are a little scared but we believe they will grow into some amazing cats!

Peaches & Tufts, mother/daughter, were adopted together by a nice family where they will stay together 💜

Jax was adopted to a nice gentleman that is retired 💙

We hope all of our cats have the best life outside of the shelter!

AKITA 🐾
Akita is another sweet girl that we have in our care, she is 4 years old. Akita was surrendered to us after her owner decided it was in her best interest, since he could not keep her contained 🐶

EMMA🐾
Emma is a very sweet girl, she is approximately 5-6 years old. She is currently our longest resident! Last week Emma was able to get out of her kennel and get some much needed one on one attention 🐶

BEAN🐾
Meet our sweet boy Bean. He came to us as a stray after his owner never came to reclaim him. Yesterday Bean got out of his kennel to burn some of his energy. He really enjoyed his time outside with staff ☺️

We wanted to share a photo of Carl, and happy to report that he is home snuggling with his owners tonight! We plan to get him into the vet tomorrow to be seen.

Thank you to Aerial Solutions for bringing out the drone last night for 3 hours, his foster dad Jack and his parents for never giving up, his adoptive parents for never sleeping, our Shelter Staff for assisting with the search and working over their end time, we also want to send a big thank you to the entire community that kept their eyes open for him! We all knew he was close by, and never lost hope!

We simply love this big guy!

UPDATE 2/6 @ 5:46pm: Carl has been found!! He was hiding in a barn where we have been searching, his adopter was able to coax him to her! His paws are a little bloody and he needs a bath!!

UPDATE 2/6 @ 5:46pm: Carl has been found!! He was hiding in a barn where we have been searching, his adopter was able to coax him to her! His paws are a little bloody and he needs a bath!!

UPDATE 2/5 @ 9:16pm: We had a person with a drone out searching for 3 hours, no sightings. After following tracks, it appears someone chased Carl on a Snowmobile on 2/4.. we advise everyone to NOT call him out or chase him if seen! Please contact our Officer at 989-240-2985 or Amber at 810-293-4467 if sighted! We need a sighting, that way we can get another drone out to search for him.

UPDATE 2/4 @ 12:33pm: we have a drone person coming out to assist!

UPDATE 2/4 @ 8:41am: there was a sighting of Carl down Main & Pine River last night. It appears he is using the road, so please use caution while in the area. We are still tracking him and working alongside residents in the area! Thank you everyone that has kept an eye out for the big guy!

UPDATE: Carl went East on Pine River Road, he is currently wearing his Red Collar that says "Carl" on it!

Carl was just recently adopted not long ago, and unfortunately got loose from his family while his owners are out of town! He is missing from Pine River & LaClair Roads in Standish.

Any sightings, please contact us ASAP at 989-240-2985. His family and friends are currently searching for him frantically.

SPAY & NEUTER BUS IS BACK!!

We have limited spots for Arenac County Residents to get their house cats fixed. We are accepting 15 house cats (not TNR cats or Dogs yet) on first come first serve bases.

CASH ONLY
DOGS $120
CATS $40
TNR CATS $25

This will need to be prepaid at the shelter. First transport is March 6th and will be once a month.

Thank you to the employees with the Eagle Cares Program at Saganing Eagles Landing Casino and Hotel for raising $325 for our shelter animals!

They select a different local organization or charity each month to donate to, these donations come from their Employee Jean's Day and a supplemental fundraiser or collection drive.

They offer a 2% Grant twice a year and we have been lucky enough to encounter their kindness over and over again. Back in 2018 the Tribe donated our County Animal Control Truck to us, without them we wouldn't be able to succeed in the Public Safety we provide for our County.

We really appreciate all the Tribe has done and continues to do for our shelter, thank you 💙🐾🐶🐱
