This month, we’re exploring the best practices for training your new pet. Positive reinforcement is a scientifically proven method of training, focusing on rewarding desired behaviors to encourage repetition. Anytime your pet exhibits desired behaviors—like going to the door for a potty break or coming to you when called—reward them with high praise or a treat. Incorporating marker words, such as “Good!” or “Yes!” helps them learn that they are doing the right behaviors. They naturally want to please you and this helps them understand making good behaviors a part of their daily habits. Positive reinforcement strengthens the bond between pets and owners, reduces stress, and fosters learning in a safe and enjoyable way.The dog pictured is Delta Rose - she is ready for adoption! URGENT: Foster Families Needed!

This weekend, we received six desperate calls from our transfer partners about an overwhelming surge of abandoned puppies and kittens. Today, over 16 underage puppies and countless kittens are arriving at The NOAH Center, along with 39 puppies and two moms rescued from freezing conditions in Eastern Washington.

These vulnerable lives can’t survive without us—and we can’t do it without YOU. We need foster families for two Aussie mix moms, a pregnant Rottweiler mix expecting 8–10 puppies, and more. Fostering is temporary (just 2–4 weeks) but life-changing for these innocent souls.

We provide everything: food, supplies, medical care, and guidance.
You provide love: A safe space to grow, heal, and thrive.

Be the reason they have a future. Sign up to foster today and give these animals their first chance at a happy, healthy life. Together, we can save lives—one foster home at a time. https://www.thenoahcenter.org/foster/

Atticus and Cannoli, the Bonded Pair, have been adopted!

You may remember their story from back in September. These two boys had quite the journey to get to this point. Atticus, our brave soul from Hawaii, and Cannoli, our sweet boy from Omak, arrived at different times, both scared and struggling with shelter stress. Over time, with lots of patience, love, and care, they found solace in each other and slowly started to warm up to people.

From their first hesitant days in the shelter to becoming a bonded pair in Visiting Room 1—grooming each other, cuddling, and being each other's safe space—it was clear they were meant to be together. And now, they’re off to a new chapter where they’ll continue to grow and thrive together!

We’re so grateful to the adopters who saw their potential and understood their need for patience and love. The staff and volunteers who poured their hearts into helping these two are overjoyed to see them embark on this new adventure.

To Atticus and Cannoli: You’ve stolen our hearts, and we can’t wait to hear about your happily-ever-after! 💕 Thank you to everyone who supported them along the way. Your shares, visits, and encouragement truly made a difference. Here's to more happy tails like this! 🐾

Catch this story on KIRO Channel 7 News Live from The NOAH Center tonight!

Lefty, a handsome brindle puppy, has faced more challenges in his short life than most. Born with a deformed front leg, Lefty’s future depends on us—and you.

To give Lefty the life he deserves, he will need a leg amputation, a prosthesis, and extensive physical therapy. These treatments will cost at least $15,000, likely more. It’s a daunting challenge, but at The NOAH Center, we are committed to giving every animal in our care the best chance at a pain-free and joyful life. Will you help us help Lefty take his next steps? Please donate here: https://www.thenoahcenter.org/donate/

Lefty is more than a pup with a deformed leg—he’s a symbol of hope and resilience. He deserves to run, play, and love without pain, and we are determined to make that happen. But we cannot do it alone.

We are launching a special fundraiser to cover Lefty’s medical expenses. Your gift will support his surgery, therapy, and recovery, paving the way for him to find the forever family he deserves.

Will you help us give Lefty a second chance? Together, we can transform his pain into joy and show him that love and kindness know no bounds.

Please donate today to be part of Lefty’s journey toward healing and happiness. Every dollar makes a difference. Lefty is counting on all of us. Share, share, share!
