FUZZY BRITCHES FIBER·SATURDAY, MAY 11, 2019·

Fuzzy Britches Fiber is a small hobby farm located in Stanwood Washington. As a spinner, I was intrigued by the notion of raising my own fiber. We currently raise Blue Faced Leicester and Tunis Sheep along with Angora Rabbits. We strive to raise our animals on a small scale in a healthy setting. All of our animals are humanely raised,

and are first and foremost pets. They are lovingly cared for, and in return supply our small farm with fiber for spinning, compost for the garden, and hours of enjoyment. We work hard to advocate for these amazing animals, and all of the resources they can provide. Our dream is to build a viable fiber business using locally sourced wool, while providing a loving and forever home to the animals who have provided us with so much!

We want to take the opportunity with the new year to introduce (or re-introduce) ourselves to our community members. We are a small farm located in Stanwood Washington. We work hard to advocate for these amazing animals, and all the resources they provide. Our dream is to build a viable fiber business using locally sourced wool. Over the next few weeks, we will be featuring individual animals in a “Sunday Farm Spotlight”. We hope you enjoy getting to know them and our farm a bit better.

Hard to believe these piles are the exact same amount of fiber! The before and after of flicking Bluefaced Leicester locks. This step of wool processing helps to open up and align the fibers. The end result is a bouncy pile of wool that will be easier to control during spinning.
