I’m a little late on our announcement but Hensen Jon Routier was born 9/22. We are enjoying lots of baby snuggles and adjusting big brother to having a little brother. 😊
I have started working on the November schedule to get clients worked back in. I am still out on my desheds and larger dogs😞 but will see how my wrists feel once I’m back to grooming. If things are doing better now that I’m not pregnant I will contact my larger clients and desheds and get you worked back in.
Current clients- if you have not heard from me by next week feel free to text me or message me.
Big thank you to Mom for taking on the clients she could while I’m off! She is a lifesaver!

Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!!! I just have a few reminders to put out there.
🐶 please make sure if you haven’t already, to send me or bring me a copy of Rabies certificate and vaccine records.
🤰🏼I am still on part time/ light duty so not accepting any new clients. Hoping once baby is here I can work my medium/ large clients slowly back in.
👶🏼 Our little boy is due at the end of September, so anything scheduled mid to late September is subject to change. At this time I am planning to take 6 weeks off for maternity leave 🤞🏻.

Thank you all for being so supportive and understanding!

05/08/2023

This saves me a huge amount of time if you email, text or let me know you will bring updated Rabies Certificate and distemper vaccine records in.

04/30/2023

I am updating vaccine records so if you have had your pup in for shots in the last 6 months or so please either bring records with you, text me a picture or email them to [email protected].
Thank you all!!!

Long post Alert!
Well I have great news, good news and not so fun news.
First off our great news is I am pregnant! Due at the end of September so I will hopefully be back before the holiday rush🙌🏼.
The good news is I will be postponing surgery due to the pregnancy. The cons out weighed the pros of having it done. I did receive an injection on Friday which has helped some. But just vacuuming and washing my floor I am sore again.😣

The not so great news is I am on light duty for the next few years until surgery. And also because of the pregnancy. I don’t want to damage any more of my wrist and I also don’t want to be in pain every night like I was with my last pregnancy.
So this means I will only be doing my small under 25 # dogs, I will not be doing desheds because that requires a lot of brushing which is where a lot of my pain comes from. And I will not be going the extra mile to brush out a ton of mats as before. So I ask my clients to stay on a 6-8 week schedule to ensure no shave offs( unless that’s how you want them done 😉). I have a small few of medium/ large dogs who require no lifting on to the table, into the bath, and out of the bath. They behave very well for me. Those dogs I will continue to do. My heavier dogs that do require the lifting and handling more due to age, aggression, weight and not minding the noose, etc. I will have to hold off on until after pregnancy. I know this will affect a few of you and I am so sorry to have to make this decision. But I have had a lot of conversations with my husband and of course my mom and this is the best way to keep me doing what I love without the risk of losing it all.
Over the next few weeks I am starting out slow. So if you have an appointment else where please go ahead and keep it and let me know you’ll need an appointment 6-8 weeks out. I appreciate you all and all the well wishes you have sent me! This has been a very stressful month but I am positive we will have a better rest of the year. ❤️

I stopped in the shop to give mom a check this morning. I started getting choked up, I really miss grooming and I miss all my furry friends and of course mom. You don’t realize how dogs help your soul settle until you don’t see them anymore. I am still not scheduled for my surgery 😢. Praying it’ll be scheduled the end of March/early April.
I’ll keep posting updates. I’m still going through notifying clients as we look at the schedule and what mom can take on. (there is quite a few of you😉).
If you have to go somewhere else, we completely understand! No hard feelings!
Big Shout out to Mom for all her help, stress and determination to help out as many clients as she can and me!
And another shout to the other groomers who are also taking on my clients!!
Much love!
-Shelby

Family Tradition

Dog grooming has been in my family since the 60’s when it started with my Grandpa and Grandma, Kenny and Myrna Hartwig. It has carried on through my Aunts, Teri and Becky and my own mother Barbie. You may know Barbie from Shibe’s Mobile Grooming, and our shop is an extension of that service.

A little about myself: I started grooming when I was about 12 years old, and we groomed almost every Wednesday night and Saturday mornings. I did a lot of the pre-clip, bathing, blow drying and watching mom finish with her expert scissor work. I have continued to help mom through the college years and early adult life. I am now going to continue our legacy of excellent quality grooming and carry on the “family tradition”. I am very excited to bring this business to the State Center area with our shop at 102 W Main St. Mom and I will continue to offer the mobile unit along with her Liscomb shop location. I look forward to meeting you and giving you a great positive grooming experience for you and your beloved pet.
