So A/C is on the fritz again 😑
I have decided to let my cooler temp snakes find new locations to take up residencies. (You know what we mean, but don't want groups/fb to delete this 😅)

1.1 - Taiwanese beauty ratsnakes

1.0 - O.t. grabowski (proven breeder)

1.0 - mandarin ratsnake (proven breeder, imported from Belgium)

*gone* 1.0 - Black copper ratsnake (WC we've had for 7months now? Eating great, fairly calm, hasn't struck me, but definitely has sassyness)

1.0 - (lost the female today) 4lined ratsnakes (ltc I've had them for a little over 1.5yrs, and they're only feeding on quail, had them on rats a few feedings, but quail seems to be their preferred food) *these are 2 of my favorite snakes and took me years to track them down. They aren't super low temp, but I don't want to risk loosing them due to cooling issues here.

So life happens, and I for one completely understand that (man do I ever)
Have 2 brand new 96x24x24 enclosures with 120w rhp's installed come available that I'd like to move quickly 😅 so I'll knock a good chunk off them to get them out of here. Can do pick-up, delivery, & meet-up with them now that the van is at least useable again 😅.

Ugh so this week has been the worst.

1st our a/c goes out (also cools the reptiles), by the time I wake up and realize what happened the reptile room is in the high 80's.

We lost our Coxi bamboo ratsnakes, managed to keep our grabowski and mandarin with ice packs around the tubs.

A/c company charged us to come look at it, tells us it's shot and will be 11-17k to replace it. A friend messaged us (who does hvac) and we talked about it, said they could have recharged it to get us through the year.

We call a different guy out, he looks it over and adds 3lbs of r22 and we're back up and running again.

Mind you while all of this is going on our neighbors had a contractor doing work and ran into our step van twice with a skidsteer and never came up to the house to say anything (we caught it on camera), neighbors are helping us deal with that.

While waiting for the 1st hvac tech I managed to mangle my finger I a lawnmower blade. (Neighbors ran me to the hospital while wife was dealing with the hvac scam)

Can barely use my hand, but teaching the oldest kid to build enclosures so I don't keep falling behind FML

Well it hasn't been fun, but aside from the timing chain/gears & 1 vacuum line I can't seem to find the ni**le for.... and various nuts/bolts to minor brackets and stuff.... the van appears to be good to go.... tomorrow will be some local stuff to make sure it's good, then Tuesday to Ashville, then wed to SC, then FL delivery (and Raleigh at some point in there)

Then I can start getting caught back up on orders ugh finally.

Oh and if anyone knows a lawyer I can talk to about taking the mechanic to court for all of the BS I've had to deal with over the last 2 months I'd be greatful.

Well it's been a long day & 350$ later, I've got about 90% of it fixed again.... ugh was supposed to be running deliveries yesterday, today, & tomorrow.... but looks like I'll be 100% back together tomorrow.

(The drips are old coolant, it stopped like 5min after the video)

Day 3 into fixing what the mechanic screwed up.... hmm I wonder where the brand new timing chain and gears are that I paid for are????? This is why people have problems with small businesses and mechanics in general.

List of things to fix
Coolant leak
Timing cover leak
Misfire cylinder 2 (cuz didn't install or return my new spark plugs)
Purge valve (he broke it)
A/c pressure switch (he broke it)
Missing bolts & nuts
Missing bellhousing & motor mount bolts
Missing nut to passenger seat
Missing gaskets
Random vac lines not hooked up
A/c lines not hooked up.

So I've always wanted to do a giveaway, just never figured out what to do...

Still here getting stuff done, I hate that I missed the Durham show, trying to get to the VA Beach show 1st weekend of August 🤞🤞🤞
Still waiting to get the van back from the mechanic 🙄, so if I'm late on orders and deliveries I apologize, but without the van I can't run delivery or even pick up pvc and larger supplies.
Still just me here doing everything myself and building everything by hand.
So glad for each and everyone of you, and for being understanding.

Unfortunately the '76 show van broke down after the Hickory show today, so we won't be making to Dunham tomorrow 😭
Fml it's not been my month.
But I expect you to still show some love to all the other wonderful vendors going.

The scrap built incubator for 😅 should have had this done months ago, but I buried parts and forgot about it for a while.
But this is my 1st purpose built donation to help with egg hatching and relocation of our native species.

Just because the incubator is built from scrap parts and extras, functionality wise, it's built to the same spec and quality as any ordered incubator.

But this small business stuff is rough, trudging through orders, trying to get show inventory figured out, doing rehab stuff, trying to get design/advert/merch figured out... getting burnt out a little, but I love this, so I'm here getting it done.
That being said, I might mess something up, and I greatly apologize for it. If it does happen, rest assured I'll do anything and everything I can to rectify the issue.

*update on the van, motor refresh parts delivered to mechanic, now I just need the damn engine to show up 🙄

Sooooo, today the van got an engine knock 😭
Do I have any people out there that does mechanical work that has a shop or access to one that could do the swap in a week or less??? Possibly cheaper than the 25hr book time I've been quoted 😬 or that would do it for cash/barter mix on enclosures/racks 😬
Already found a few options on engines between 75k-105k miles on them.
I don't have the space to do the swap myself, or I would.

I love a good wall of enclosures, the VA delivery yesterday. Great trip, great people, and they treated us to great pizza 😅... 🍕 we went with hinged doors due to them being extra small species, no squeezing between the glass on these.
The stands were made by them, and they did a great job, everything stacked together exactly how they envisioned (even had a printed out placement sheet to make it easy)

Ugh using 2 suppliers to try and get caught up on pvc delays, down side is getting everything back to back 😅 70 sheets cut and 1/2assed sorted... 10 more still coming and 15 more to order FML...... 😐 everyone trying to kill me I swear.....
VA delivery finished yesterday or day before I don't even know anymore 13 enclosures to load up once I pick up the next 10 sheets.

Unfortunately with the pvc delays, I most likely won't make the Grovetown GA show, Bbbbbuuuttttttt we're doing the back to back NC shows.
Brand new location back where TGH all started Hickory... so all you MFers better come show some love 😐😐😐
Come get you some enclosures, racks, reptiles... and we should have some shirts again...
I'm gonna be so disappointed if we don't get a packed house.

Meh, got a couple more done, and just a few more to go.... another VA delivery going out soon.
Then a FL delivery in the near future, everything else is local... but I'm not complaining 😅

Got some racks and 2 incubators finished up this past week (including the smallest incubator to date 😅)
Now, to get rolling on enclosures and more racks.
Unfortunately been having a delay in PVC supply, but so far, I am still keeping or staying close to original built time estimates... so please bear with me, I got you and I'll get everything done as fast as I can.

I've never felt more underpaid and overworked than building reptile enclosures during tax time and preparing for expos 😅
Bbbuuuuutttttt I do my best work under extreme pressure, so keep those orders coming.

P.s. working on a revamp of the logo and a "pin-up bomb drop" style but riding and enclosure instead of a bomb 😅

The messy time consuming side of building. The side hardly anyone knows about, this was day 3 of cutting, shaping, and routing out 134 rack shelves. No big fancy machines, just a couple routers, bits, jigs, and a ton of dust.
