With a lot of debate, I have decided to sell my personal horse Dreamer. I simply to do not have the time that she deserves.
Has successfully shown in EXCA, and ranch classes
Trail rides great, will bring everyone home from a man from Snowy River type of ride.
Great with small children but hates my professional horse trainer husband.
Must scratch between her back legs often, it’s her favorite spot.
Must have a sandy arena because she MUST roll after anything you do with her
Please call 800-YOU-WISH if interested
Happy April Fools everyone!

“You need to do less sooner, you’re always doing too much, late.” ~ Ray Hunt.

This is so true when it comes to working with horses. Take the slightest try to the EXTREME! it may seem slow at first but the end results will be outstanding. Slower truely is faster.

We often get too greedy when working with our horses, striving for perfection. While you should absolutely rise your expectations, we expect too much, too soon. Look for that 1% improvement everyday.

Hank pictured below is a true testament to that.

As the year is coming to an end we are starting to plan clinics for next year! We strive to have best in the industry come to NC and further our education and of our clients. First up is Magen Warlick! Who is interested in 4 or 5 days in mid May? Official dates and details to come. How long do you prefer and what would like to cover? My thoughts are to go into depth of relationship based training, learning how to better “desensitize” your horse, and how to transfer that into the show ring. We want to hear your input!

Spots are limited and this clinic is already starting to fill! RV spots are full!! Primitive camping available!

Every year to strive to invite the best in the industry to do a clinic with us. Continued education is very important to Cale and I. This year we had Joshua Rushing from Shoe-N-R Horsemanship come to NC for three days! The participants improved tremendously in such a short time. More body control, transitioning from two hands to one, and putting everything we learned to practical use. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us Joshua Rushing!

When you find the perfect match for both horse and rider ❤️ Congratulations to Bryan Hardin on your purchase of Mr. Red Norfleet AKA Chief. Chief is a special boy that we raised from a foal and trained. He has successfully shown in hunter jumpers, dressage, english pleasure, trail, Extreme Cowboy Racing and even therapeutic riding. He was used by many clients over the years for clinics and helped teach many children how to ride. We couldn’t be more excited for Bryan and Chief to share many new adventures together!

🙌 there is a difference between being honest with a client and being disrespectful. We want everyone to feel welcome and inspired!

To my students-

You can and should expect to be treated with respect. Whether you have been riding your whole life or first time today, whether you think you know something or are scared you’ll look stupid, whether you have an expensive import or a kill pen rescue, you will be treated with respect, and you should expect it.

Once that’s clear that you won’t be judged for your ability, let’s not waste time with worrying how you look, or trying to impress or show what you know. Let’s get right to the stuff of value - because I respect you, I want to help you. I want to get the source to help you succeed. Because you know it is with respect and not personal, you can be assured it is a safe environment to receive input and even criticism without it being personal criticism. You can rest assured that I myself am still taking lessons on very basic skills, and recieve criticism from my own teachers on probably the same thing you’re going to get. It’s not personal, and it does not mean you are a poor rider or can’t be a great one.

I expect you to treat your horse with respect. You’re going to refine your idea of what respect for your horse is, and im going to ask you to stretch your comforts, and think from the horses perspective. You’re going to learn that to be really respectful of the horse, some of your habits simply will not fit into this. They’re probably unconscious, probably not meant with malice, but I need you to understand that that doesn’t matter to the horse- you need to break those habits, and take that task very seriously if you want them to be happy.

Im going to put you first, but im going to ask you to put your horse first. You might not always like what you hear, but you can rest assured it is said because I care about your success- if I didn’t, I wouldn’t bother changing your habits.

Good riding, really good riding, is exceptionally hard. Im still working on myself and always will be. Im a fellow student and fellow learner, so I will try to see from your point of view as much as I can. You can communicate safely with me, but you may be asked to think differently.

It’s ok to make mistakes, it’s ok to have emotions, it’s ok to feel whatever comes up - we will address it, but we will be moving forward, together.

Be careful when you meet your heroes. Behind closed doors they are often completely different people, even the ones that seem blunt. I am lucky enough to have worked with several of my childhood horsemanship heroes. I was mesmerized by what the could accomplish with horses, and how big their business had become. Watching those same horsemen today I see how awful their feel and timing is, or how how terrible they treat their workers, clients, and even family. Yet, in public seem so friendly and down to earth. Get to know the horsemen you follow. Pick someone who isn’t just good with horses but, has a good moral compass as well. I am a lot more selective on who I learn from these days as I am looking at both aspects. We are honored to be leaving for Texas in 5 days to be with best there is. Not only is she an outstanding horseman but, an incredible human.

We had so much fun at our Mounted Patrol and Body Control Clinic yesterday! The horses took the road flares, smoke bombs 💣, fireworks 🎇, gunfire, and other scary objects all in stride! Everyone made great progress with body control in the afternoon, each working on their specific needs. We can’t wait to do more like this in the future! Be sure to have your volume up for the video!

S***k your baby horse.

I don’t mean beat them. I don’t mean give them a little tug on the lead rope. I mean a rude horse deserves and understands some rudeness right back at them far better than a sweet whisper in their ear.

I mean, when your c**t or filly is running you over or throwing their ass at you or throwing their feet at you or snatching at you with their teeth, S***K THEM. Their mama would never tolerate that behavior from them. The old babysitter gelding in their pasture would not tolerate that behavior. YOU SHOULDNT TOLERATE IT.

They don’t like you because you’re sweet to them. They “like” food, water and safety.
You want your horse to be fed so you bring them food.
You want your horse to have water so you keep water in front of them.
What do you do when you want them to be safe? You discipline them when they are unsafe. You teach them to respect humans and make good choices. When they don’t respect humans and humans get hurt what happens? THEY ARENT SAFE. They can’t be treated when they are sick. They can’t have their feet cared for. If they are hurt you can’t fix them. If something happens to you? What happens to your sweet dream horse? They aren’t going to be safe. No one wants a disrespectful dangerous horse. I don’t care how pretty they are. I don’t care how much money you paid for it. I don’t care what names are on its papers. If it’s a complete s**t, it’s a complete s**t and the good horse owners? They don’t want it! I don’t want it! You know who does want it? The meat man.

If you love that horse, don’t be afraid to give it a s***k when it’s rude.
