This is the deaf 6 month old corso that is living outside. We have asked rescues to possible take and everyone is full. I can’t help but to try to help him but I will NOT take this boy in without a solid plan.

People please understand I am only one person who has to do it all. Social media, intakes, vetting appointments, screening for foster or adopters, making sure we have enough food and supplies etc… I need solid help and not chaos just to scramble to help. Everyone wants the dogs saved but once they are it goes ghost town then it’s all on me.

-10 temps are expected to happen this week. We have got so many messages offering to help but what we need is a solid foster home that is serious.

Many of you have offered after holidays or for temporarily for a couple of days. We have to do this right and I refuse to have him bounced around. It’s not fair to him or to me to scramble stressed on where he will go. I foster 7 dogs myself and they need me too.

He is not house trained and will need training.

We need a foster home that is willing to have him a min 3
Months. We are open to foster to adopt while we sort out his medical.

We need a home that is patient and understanding he is still a puppy and needs training. He will not teach himself and accidents might happen. Puppy’s are a lot of work and need a lot of patience.

We will cover all food, medical & supplies.

👇🏽 What we know so far about him… 👇🏽
• He’s only met dogs though fences and seems ok but we don’t really know.

• He’s not been around cats.

• He’s good with kids but bumps into them and can be silly so no infants or small children. He also is still in the mouthing stage.

We need someone with large breed experience as he will grow to be a big boy.

I will not go take this boy in just to say he’s saved. I need someone to please take this serious and step up.

If you are not in a position to foster but would love to help we are in need of donations or supplies.

collar placement matters✨

•a live prong collar or slip lead is highest on the neck, right below the ears. this allows for best control and guidance when communicating to the dog.

•ecollar is next. the box stays on either side of the neck. don’t forget to rotate every few hours to avoid pressure sores.

•the flat collar is lowest. it’s main purpose in this case is to hold your dog’s tags.

it may feel ridiculous to have thirty different items on your dogs neck, but they all have their purpose😉

Pro tip: Stick to solid colors. This apparently doesn’t work for breeds with unique markings (I’ve tried ☹️)

Are you truly ready to change? We don’t ask this question lightly because we know how easy it is to say the word “yes.”

To say you’re willing to do anything and stop old habits is one thing, but to actually act upon those words is another. Change doesn’t happen without the real, hard, and sometimes “ugly” work.

How does this relate to dog training? Because we see it every day. We have owners who are struggling and at their wits end, while their dog is on their final chance.

Something has got to give. So what will it be?

Are you ready to become a real leader to your dog? To get your dog out of the bedroom and off the couch? To move your dog away and give it a correction when it breaks command to demand attention from you? Will you be emotionally vested in recognizing the signs and not letting your heart talk you out of doing the “mean” things?

Are you going to be firm, consistent, and disciplined even when things seem to be getting better, or will you let it all slide at the first sign of “good enough”? Are you in it for the long haul?

We see it every day. We see owners struggle when they don’t have to, but it’s also hard to train your own dog and do the stuff that takes actual work.

We’re not talking about the reps of obedience. we’re talking about the emotional work like holding your dog accountable and correcting unwanted behaviors.

So many people feel bad about this part of dog ownership, but it’s probably one of the most important.

If you want change—truly, honestly, deeply, want change, then you have to follow through with action to match it. Words are meaningless without the behavior to back them up.

Dog owners are 50% of the equation when it comes to how successful a training program is

So if you are ready for things to change with your dog…start paying attention to your own behavior as well.
