I know it's heartbreaking to have your dog crated ten plus hours, but imagine them being crated for 23 hours or even 24. A lot of shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with owner surrenders right now, but there are tons of things you can do to keep your dog in your house.

You can hire a midday dog walker. You could take your dogs to doggie daycare. There are amazing lick mats and Kongs filled with frozen peanut butter to help entertain and keep your dog calm while you're gone. Ask us about enrichment ideas!

Going back to the office is not an adequate reason to give up on your pet.

Owner surrendered pets are usually the first to be euthanized inside county shelters because they need the space in order to make room for lost dogs. Even if you think your dog will be adopted quickly and could find a better home, that is not usually the case. Please consider all options before surrendering your pet, and think about their best interests. They trust you, they are a member of your family, and they love you unconditionally.

Hi everyone! For those who don’t know me, my name is Scooby Blue Lantz. My mama is Cassie Lantz, the Fur Mama. If you need someone to walk your dog or check in on them when you’re out of town, give my Mama a call. She is a licensed veterinary technician—so she is comfortable taking care of pets with medical issues or who need medication or special diets. I’m her only dog right now, but she has had a dog for who was diabetic and needed insulin, two who had to wear diapers, and one that was on 3 different medications 3 times a day. That’s quite a dog mom. And she will love your pets like
her own.
